how do you do it? will it mess up anything?

 

hold the brake down, give it gas untill the RPMS are at about 2000rpms, then release the brake and put the gas down all the way.

 

I dont think it should mess anything up. Just hold the brake and rev it to about 1500-2000 rpms and then do what Teal_Beast said, just drop the brake and slam the gas. If you do any more rpms than 2000 or 2500 youre probably going to spin your tires, which is cool, but not when you want to race.

 

I've asked this question before and given it some thought. Someone told me on this forum or another to "Flash" the tourqe converter. I don't really know what that means other than get the rpms up. Anyone know how to do that, or is that the same way as just launching it? My logic(not trustworthy) has led me to think that if you put it in neutral, jump the rpms up quiet a bit, and then put it back in drive a second before take-off, the trouqe converter will be "more flashed". (This also seems like the same thing as a neutral drop or something) Yeah sounds like its not good for anything. Just hold the brake down huh.

 

The highest you can launch in the 99-04 stock convertor is around 1500RPMS or the breaks will go. It may be slightly different in 05+

 

Yup, 1500rpm is the limit with mine before I start spining. I don't hold the brake down completely though, just enough to hold it still.
