I have a 2001 V6 3.8L manual thats pretty much stock except for CAI and duals on the way, and I heard the best thing to go with next would be gears. I was wonderin what the difference is between 3.73 and 4.10 like pros and cons. And would i need anything else with the gears or just order them, install em, and drive? Thanx

As far as I know, the only real 'con' for the 4:10's is some possible gas mileage loss on the highway.
You would have to get a tune to fix your speedometer, and most reccomend t-lok. |

i'm getting some 3.73s for my 05 v6 manual... the 4.10s are gonna give you high rpm on the freeway, so you'll need a reflash to fix that and your speedometer. also, its pretty difficult to install the gears yourself cuz if you dont line everything up perfectly they'll whine and scrape... not pleasant.
so yea, you can just install and go. but the gears will be really harsh on your car unless you do a reflash to fix all the problems that come w/them. best of luck |

for manulas you should get 3.73's, their is also a gear sticky in the general tech forum that will answer alot more of your questions.
