Exclamation Need A Little Help With Cai & Tb

Wuz sup people, i'm new here to the forum and i was wondering if ya'll can give a little help on some installation tips. i just got a MT cold air in take and a bbk throttle body 65mm for my 00 3.8L, i'm having a hell of a time trying to get the blue rubber thing in the tb, it won't fit, what can i do to fix this or where can i get another blue thing that will fit in the throttle body, I will apprreaciate the help Thanks

are you talking about teh coupler that connects the TB to the CAI?

yeah, my fault, that blue thing that goes on the throttle body, can't get it to fit

well i would venture to guess that the coupler that comes in the kit is made for the stock throttle body, and since you bought a bigger throttle body it is going to be hell to stretch to get it over, you should just go buy a bigger coupler at autozone...

There's no way in hell that coupler will fit over a 65mm TB. It takes a nice shove to get it over a stock one. Take mustangvsix's advice and run to AAP or Autozone and pick up a coupler that'll fit the tube and the TB.

BTW, a TB is worth no power on your car, and may just make it idle worse.

A larger TB would help you since you've got the turbos wouldn't it?

doubt it.

if i have a 80mm TB and a 60MM intake outlet do you think im going to get anymore horsepower then a 60mm tb and a 60mm outlet?

Didn't realize you only had a 60MM outlet. I say you upgrade on both ends and get that baby suckin' and blowin' some serious O2.

oh i dont know that the TB/Inlet is 60mm im just giving an analogy, whatever they are, they are so closely matched that the restriction isnt removed untill you do both.
