I am trying to figure out what exactly the noise from the backside of my car is... It sounds like a metallic, airy, raspy noise... I think it may be the exhaust (same stock exhaust set up)... It used to only happen when I would drive for long periods of time in low gear, and when i would get into the 1500 to 2500 RPM range of 4th gear.. However now it even happens when I start my car and pretty much any time it feels like it. If it is the exhaust, what do you guys think of the Bolt on Mac exhaust on MT?

it might be helpful if you can eliminate certain circumstances:
does it make the noise more on accel/decel? does it make the noise more on cornering or straight line? does it make the noise only at its whim or can you induce it? If you can, how? Have you checked for broken exhaust mounts, cracked pipes, mufflers, etc...? |

it makes the noise more on acceleration, however it does from time to time do it on deceleration also... It seems to only happen on a straight line, but it does do it on a whim... I can induce it and reduce it too (it's very tempermental lol) if it happens in low 4th i can get rid of it by down shifting into 3rd (I would just do that but with gas prices it isn't very cost effective)... I checked the muffler, the brackets and the pipe from the cat back and i saw nothing unusual... I just want to find out before I go back to school so i'll have time to fix the problem if I can...

it reads like a tranny thing or a suspension thing but I can't tell from this far away. See if someone more local can hop in and figure it out.
