Alright, I own a 2004 v6 screaming yellow stang and was wanting to add some mods to it...i wanna start by adding some dual exhuast and was thinking about purchasing this adapter kit http://www.mustangtuning.com/v6duexadkit1.html and was wondering what GT cat-back exhaust u would recommend to compliment this adapter?...I just want a nice, deep roar when accelerating and a nice purr when idle...maybe this one? http://mustangtuning.com/99gtmawti.html
I also wanna put some 20" rims on it, 20"s are possible, correct? I want these rims http://mustangtuning.com/20x85-dd-bullitt-chrome.html , is this a good price for them? I will also need new tires to go along with the rims and this site recommended i get these http://mustangtuning.com/sumitomo-htrzii-255-35-20.html , or do you guys think i would be better off grabbing some tires from a local shop? Also, will i need to get some chrome lug nuts with the rim purchase? Thx for reading through my post and I'm open to any and all suggestions on what to purchase peace |

If you want a good exhaust for fairly cheap the Mac catback system is like 300 and it bolts right up to your Y pipe already... no need for an extra attachment pipe...
as for the rims, personally the highest i'd go on my car is 18's but to each his own... the stance of the car is just much better, u might even think about 17's up front and 18's out back... that looks mean as hell... if your guna put rims on your car, ur also guna wana do lowering springs (and if u got the money CC plates and shocks and struts) IMO i'd go with 18 bullits, 9 up front 10 out back,...it's a look that is just amazing in person... all mustangs shoulda come with 10 inch tires out back, u need that traction bad... so in short, Mac exhaust, 18' Bullits, and Lowering springs by H&R... as for tires i got pirelli's off Tirerack.com but MTing has a good selection of some decent tires, put a post up in the tire forum to see what people will say... i stick with my pirelli's they're damn good ultra high performance all season tires....

i love the idea of having 20"s on both front & rear but u make a good point bro, i will defintely need the lowering springs no matter what i get...do u think getting straight 20X8.5" rims is a bad idea? i mean, will having the 8.5" and not the 10" on the rear make a huge difference in traction control? also, would the 20"s significantly slow my car down or would it be a slight difference?
i like this exhaust setup http://mustangtuning.com/magnaflow-d...t-9904-v6.html , but i noticed that the site recommends that u put on a GT rear fascia beforehand...does it absolutely need that or can u get away with just the v6 one? if not, where can i find a screaming yellow rear GT fascia? so many options...it all has my head spinning on what 2 buy... sorry 4 so many questions but i appreciate all the help peace |

Well for your question about the fascia, all you need is a mounting bracket for the right side, and just lower the pipe a tad so that the tips go under the bumper, since there are no cutouts. It doesn't look as bad as you may think..
btw: 18x9 front 18x10 back is the best thing in the world on a mustang..especially if ya got it lowered. ![]() And if you plan to do drag racing, the 20" rims will make a difference

determined...
i have that same exhaust system...and no need for the GT bumper although i did buy one for the looks...the hangers had to be cut so it would fit up into the GT bumper... it will fit your V6 bumper and i believe mine came with all of the mounting hardware but i bought it through a local shop for 400

20's? bling bling but -----> HEAVY...not so good for going fast. Unsprung weight is very bad for a car.

i'd say 20s are too flashy and showy. especially all that chrome. but if you want 20s... get them only in the back. i read some of your other posts and it sounds like you're modding for performance too, in which case 20s would NOT be a good call cuz they're heavy. and with yellow paint i'd go with the black bullitts... that'd be sick. but its your car obviously... just make sure you're happy with the purchase.
and as for tires... hit up a local shop. it's easier to make sure you're getting the right size and it might also be cheaper. look around |

BTW: I've been thinking, would it look bad if I cut the rear fascia exhaust cut outs on the V6 fascis? Then of course sand it and kind of angle it... I wonder how much work that would take

... i believe it will look alright with the duals hanging below the v6 bumper and saving yourself 500 or so bucks not buying a gt fascia will be worth the effort in the end i'm sure |

dude its the easiest thing in the world. i added duals on my 05 V6 and just measured the distance from the stock tip to the edge of the bumper then copied those measurements to the opposite side. then i got a little sheet of paper and traced the curvature of the hole on the stock side, then just put it against the bumper and used a razor knife to cut thru the paper and make a little mark on the bumper. once i stood back and looked to make sure it looked even i just took some shearing scissors and cut it out. luickily for me my car is black and the bumper is made outta black material, so i didnt have to paint the edge of what i cut... but thats a 5 min touch up if necessary. my 2nd grade arts and crafts skills saved me $400 for a new RBR. good luck!
and determined... the black bullitts w/those measurements will kick ass. get a pic loaded so we can see how it looks |

as for the dual adaptor you really dont need it with the v6 you can do the straight pipes back to the mufflers. what cat back is personal preference. the pipes can just be adjusted a little lower to go under the bumper and it doesnt look bad at all. the cobras are the same on the tips they go under the bumper cause there are no cutouts, but the bumper is different.
if you plan on hauling azz then i wouldnt go bigger than 18, but there are plenty of stangs out there on 20s with serious power also. |
