Default My summer plans....

Well, this is my baby.. I've had her for about 4 years, and it's time to dress her up a bit..
Attachment 7162Attachment 7163
These are my plans at the moment..

Already Installed or ordered:
-SPEC Stage 3 Clutch Kit, Installed
-STEEDA Clutch adjuster kit with billet quadrant, Ordered
-STEEDA Clutch pedal stop Kit, Ordered
-Tru Duals W/ Flowmasters and 2 1/2" tips, Installed
-White Face Gauges, Installed
-Sound, Panasonic 7401U Head unit, 800watt Audiobahn Amp & Cap, 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect Sub, Installed
-Sound, Infinity Kappa 5/7's, Infinity amp 111rms/4, ordered
-Cold air intake, recieved, not installed

In the plans for this Summer:
-Install original Cobra body kit, or similar (TRYING to find a chin spoiler too, any info on that would be great! MT is O.O.S.)
-Paint car Black Pearl
-One Piece Chrome or Black Dual Halo "Angel Eye" Projectors, and Cobra Fog Lamps
-Rebuild rear-end with updated gearing
-2003 Cobra 17/10" Rims w/1" Spacers on the rear
-Drop suspension 2", New shocks/ struts
-Possible, Chip and headers.

So.. What do you think? Sound like a good plan? There's also a possibility of building a 4.6 and droppin it in eventually..... all in due time......

well i would rather see the money spent on making the v6 go fast, but i suppose to each is own. You wont get much more power out of any of that and if i was a betting man i would say you would be slower.

Have fun

Honestly if it was me. I would take the money you are about to sink into the car, put the factory radio back into it and get either a 94-98 Cobra or a 99-01 Cobra. that way you get the looks you seem to be going for and at teh same time you get a V8. OR, save even longer and take the money you were going to put into the 4.6 and combine it all and get an 03-04 Cobra and call it a day!

IMO.

I can see there being some serious love built up for that particular car by now.. 4 years of ownership does that to a guy.

My only suggestion is to put a cobra brake kit at the top of your list. You've got big plans for a killer looking car, with the possibility of a V8 coming in and an assurance of more power down the line. Adding 13" brakes is cheap at 400bucks all-in, fills out the wheels so they don't look so under-equipped and you'll really really appreciate the added stopping power, especially if you jump to a V8.

I've been contemplating picking up an old V6 and dropping a turbo straight six into it for giggles.

BTW... I don't think 17x10 rims will fit with 1" spacers but it might be different on the 7.5" than on my 8.8. In any case, I'd put an 8.8 in it anyway. they're cheap on the secondary market and well worth the 100 bucks it usually takes to pry one away from the owner. If you can find a 96-98 GT or cobra axle that'd be about perfect.

True duals will probably not sound as good as you'd hoped and may lose you some power but that's your choice.

I agree with redneck on the cobra brake kit. Not only does it drastically improve stopping power, but it looks really good too. I have the black cobra calipers on mine...but you can also get the red anniversary or bullitt calipers...if you want it to stand out a little more. Easy upgrade too.

This is where I got my chin spoiler since MT said they were going to be out of stock until July. Shipped fast and came with all the hardware.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

As far as the tru duals go, they're already on the car and sound great.

I got the cold air intake in yesterday, and it's rockin'.

The 17/10's will go on first and we'll see if it still needs a spacer, and if it will be applicable..

What's done:

New radiator, New alternator, New Oxygen sensors, New driver side window, and passenger side motor, Spec Stage 3 clutch (Steeda quadrant & adjuster kit going on soon, Thanks MT! along with Steeda clutch stop, stangsuspension.com), Tru Duals w/ Flowmasters, Cold Air intake, Amsoil 10/30 with high flow oil filter, interior dressup with full seat covers, White face gauges etc..

The list continues to grow, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens next!
