Default Question about Sumitomo HTR's?

Is the compound that these tires are made up of the same as the nitto dr's? The reason i ask is because i'm been putting about 600 miles a week for the last two months on my 315 dr's and now they are looking pretty bald now...since i'm gonna be doing alot of driving from now on, i don't want a tire that will wear out as fast as my nittos.....to those who have them, how happy are you with them? How do they handle in the rain?
PS: where's the best place to get them from?

Miguel

If you got 20k+, then you have nothing to complain about. You are doing great. Zhit, I would get the nitto's again if you got that many miles.

Yeah, but nittos suck in the rain and lately its been raining here alot and let me tell you..nittos are not fun in the rain....i need something that will give me more than 20k miles and that won't put me against the wall in the rain..Hell its been yrs since i've seen a track so i don't need nittos..

Are you serious? I thought sumitomos were suppose to be regular street tires...and not made of the same soft compound that nitto dr's are made of..hence why the wear out so quick?...

I have the sumitomos, they are good in the rain, but they are very soft, I have a rock driveway and the rocks actually stick to the tires when I drive across them, then I have to drive slow to get all the rocks off the tires to keep from slinging them up onto the cars paint, I havent driven on them a whole whole lot , so I dont know how long they will last with everyday driving, but for the price I would buy them again just because of the low price, plus they dont look half bad

Yes, they are very soft, and I get rocks all over them all the time. People that ride are like WTF is that? I love mine, they are great in the rain, I mean, better than the stock replacements I had on the car when I bought it. Id buy them again, and expect to get a good number of miles on them. LOL Springs, burnouts tend to wear tires down a lot faster than normal street driving...

No he's saying you'll get good miles out of these tires......even though they are made out of the same soft compund as the Nittos they wont wear out as fast because of the amount of tread on them as opposed to the DR which have none...lol......he was just stating doing burnouts and what not wear out tires faster

If you want a little more you can to the HTRZ 2's in the front and since they dont make the 2's in 315/35/17....which I believe you have you can do the regular HTRZ in the rear.

You won't be dissappointed. I've got 275/40's on the front and 315/35's on the back and as far as tread life goes I've had then for a year and put 20k on them and they aren't even at half tread depth. I've got a 2kGT and I had to drive from the other side of Denver to Bakersfield, CA and when I went through Vail, CO is was snowing so bad you could hardly see the side of the road. It took me 2 hours to go 10 miles, I had traction control on and it only kicked in once. These tires are awesome I like them and I feel safe driving anywhere with my family in the care with me.

Just be mindful of your inflation pressure. I was riding around with a little too much and got a lil premature wear on the center. But after the pressure correction they've been fine and I haven't noticed any other problems since...
