Toyo TQ Drag Radials 315/35/18 DRs Pics inside
 

For my birthday decided to get some new tires as the ones that came with my 18 x 11 2000 Rs looked too small in the rear. These tires are about 1 in taller than the Pilot Sports that are on there now. Will post some pics once I get them but there is really not a lot of choices in 315 street tire. We see a lot of rain and some one down here just discoverd recently that you cant drive in the rain with DRs.

I thought you have some 345s, maybe becuase you have those wide ass rear rims. You can get some good deals on 345 race scrubed Toyo R888 tires.

I also got some new meats for my new 10.5 rear wheels. Can't wait to throw my posi out the back of rear end cover.

I have seen those but with all this rain we get down here dont want to end up in a ditch or center divider on highway.

How much did you pay for them?

I got them local. They price matched the online prince which is about 255 per tire when you factor shipping, not bad price for this size tire. If you live local to tiredsdirect.net they had it the cheapest at 456 for two but shipping was around 52.

Yeah I wish my local place would do that, but they wont.
I think Less Schawb or whatever is the only place that carry's Toyo Tire's.
They want me to pay $800 +
when I can get them for like $480 with shipping from an online dealer. :D
I can do the Moutaing and Balance at mechanics shop no charge.

Thats crazy how much they want for it but you can still save close to 300 just buying it online.

I usually always go online to get everything, for the most part, mainly E-Bay. The only time I support local is if I'm in a hurry, I have no choice or they're a friend or just friendly people. The only thing I've noticed is I can't get the BIG tires much cheaper in person. Like for lifted vechiles, you save a little, but that depends on the brand and sizes.
Les Schawb on the other hand FUCKED up my rims, like chipped the paint when I was getting a flat fixed.
Then when I got my MotorCycle I got new tires and I was charged like $500, I could have gotten it like almost $200 cheaper and way faster.

They aren't that bad in the rain. Nittos have always been good in the rain till they get really worn down. And I am for sure gonna break and axle this year, I know it.

I took it for a test drive and wow it feels like I am riding on an air bag. Must be the soft compound and taller sidewall which is about 1" taller than the old PS. As far as grip the jury is still out as I could not really get on them with all this traffic. Ill chime in later and see how it goes.

What PSI are you running them at? Looks like they are over inflated from those pics. I heard mixed reviews about those tires. I was going to go with them, till I read a lot of reviews then I found a screaming deal on the regular 555R's and said screw it I will go with them again.

And even without heating up the 315's I did a few test passes today on my lunch break, and they hooked really well. No spin hardly at all in first gear leaving at 3,500rpms on the bottle. The 275 Nitto 555R's would spin in first, but they would be pulling me along pretty hard too. Should be a fun time at the track.

I read up on them and I know that they are not the best track tire but this is mostly a street car so did not mind. I also liked the tires size.

Man, I was just about to say your hood and bumper is getting closer to matching the rest of the car. You have your fenders rolled? looks like the first pot hole you hit will make some spaghetti strings out of your tire.

Nice! I wish I had one of those or found someone who would of rented it to me. Instead I just had a body shop do my car.

I have been looking at a good tire. How has your experience been with these. I was looking for more of a drag tire so are these not hooking up like a better drag might? I seen the same 315/35/18's Toyo TQ Drag Tires on a website but would rather maybe go with something else if they don't hook.

As far as on the street they hook really well plus I have been in the rain with no issues not sure about track. Compared to my old Proxes its night and day but my old tires looked like rubber bands as sidewalls were too thin. Since I am on the street more than the track this tire is perfect but dont expect too much life as tire compound is soft. Since they are taller and softer the rear feels smoother which is a plus.
