Question Need tires...

So, I'm getting some uneven wear on my front tires and I think they are pretty much shot.. The rears still look pretty good so I don't really want to replace them yet.

My question. The tires are Fuzion HRi's 215/50/R17's, so far I haven't liked the quality and they seem pretty damn loud, a lot louder than my Kumho Ecstas I had on the Mustang.

I'm not looking for the priciest most extravagant tire, just something that is a decent all weather tire that will last for 30-40,000mi.

Right now I'm looking at the Kumho Ecsta ASX, Sumitomo HTR+, and the same Fuzion HRi. These tires are all comparably priced and I know from experience that I like the Kumho, and haven't been extremely pleased with the Fuzions, but I have no experience with the Sumi's.. Any recommendations?

Question number two, do you see any issues with mis-matching brands? Other than the obvious differance in look?

Thanks for the help.

I have never used any of those tires so I would say go onto whichever site you plan on buying from and reading some reviews I know that tire rack has alot of reviews

They were already a little worn when I bought the car, so I didn't want to ruin the rear tires too..

if you want something all season that will last, avoid sumitomos... those are like 10,000 mile tires tops.

I have a set of Toyo Proxes T4-S's with less than 1000 miles on them. I can sell them to you on the cheap. 225/45/17.

<-- Color me interested. What do you think the overall size differance would be between the 225/45 and my 215/50's? Little if any? LMK, cheap sounds good.

a tad wider with the same sidewall height.

215/50 means the sidewall is about 50% of 215 in height

225/45 means the sidewall is about 45% of 225 in height....so a tad wider with about the same sidewall height...they should fit fine as long as 215's were the stock width for the car.

I dont know about shipping costs, but I can give you them for 100 for the set of four plus shipping. Or you could come pick them up if you are ever near southern Ohio.

Dude, get me a shipping quote to 37075 (business address, should save some $$) Can you snap a quick pic of a couple of them? I trust you though so if you don't get the chance that's cool. I could roll up to Ohio, but if the shippings not too bad then I'd rather not.. lol

I live North of Nashville, basically on the TN/KY line. What's your Zip code? I can check to see if there is maybe a Roadway truck Co. anywhere around there and if you could toss them in a couple of boxes & drop them at the terminal I think they would haul them here for less than UPS or Fed Ex would.

45227

or we could meet half way or something this weekend. I have a rental car right now that gets 30 mpg's so If you wanna throw in 20 bucks for gas...so 120 for the set I would be willing to drive a bit to help you out.

If you want to meet me in KY somewhere that would be fine I think.

That would probably be easier, as long as you don't mind. Maybe Louisville? That's a little past half way for me, but I don't mind driving a little farther.
