you mean 255/35/20 and 295/30/20 right? the sizes you gave are impossible on the rim sizes you posted. Personally, I think 20's look good only on the new mustangs. |

I guess yer right wom.
there is definatly a social standard for various types of cars... ideally domestic muscle cars should be smooth, streamlined, without stickers, and have everything functional, with no flashy gimmics imports on the other hand are all about the giant exhaust tips, lambo doors, huge wings, bodykits and stickers, basically the effort to do everything you can to hide the actual make/model of the vehicle. (god forbid somebody recognize that thing as a honda) then you have the urban influence which is big rims, big stereos, tv screens in head rests, ultimate superflous luxury... etc we did all start somewhere, i did in fact have altezza's on my mustang for a few weeks. So, TO CARLITOS, welcome man, one thing yer gonna learn here quick is that you better have a thick skin, but always remember the fact it IS your car and you can do whatever you want with it. most of us here like to hold true to the muscle/pony car ideals, and 20 inch rims does not quite fit that mainly because they are normally extremly expencive and offer a performance LOSS rather than a performance Gain. Not that we dont aappreciate some flash, in the musclecar / mustang subcultures some things just are big no-no's and 20 inch rims are one of those things. my biggest reccomendation is to sell those bad boys and get some 17's, they fit the size of the car and dont draw all the attention to the wheels, after all, that is a beaufitul mustang and it is a shame to have something like giant chrome wheels draw all the attention away from the beauty iof the car. Things like wheels should compliment eachother, not really stand out. Also, going with 17's you will spend less in gas and have an increase in performance. However, all in all, it is a clean ride, i dont like the wheels, but hey, its yer car, do what you want, and be proud of it. a lot of things most people on mustang boards frown upon Altezza lights stickers neons excess carbon fiber ( i have a CF hood myself) 20 inch rims spinners giant spoilers over the top bodykits (it is a mustang, why make it look like an evo?) etc..... |

I agree 20's are to much on those cars. If you have to put 20" rims its best on an 05+ if you must. Like jack said though its your car do what you think looks good. In my opinion 18" max
Welcome to mustangboards though. You def have to have thick skin around here. Thats the great part about this place if you ask for opinions you going to get what people really think none of this "looks good" or "Its ok" when its not their taste.
