Default Bought Big & Littles....

I talked to a guy earlier this week looking for some tires and he said he had a set of big and littles for sale. They are Weld draglites 15x3 in the front and 15x8 in the back. They have M/T ET street radials on them. 3 of the rims are new, the front tires are new, and the rears have about half tread left. I bought them for $300.

I have no idea how to drive on these. I havent mounted them on the car yet but I will get pics as soon as I do. He said they will brake alot different. Theyre just for the track, but hopefully its not dangerous braking in street driving. Im taking them to the track tonight hopefully but for sure on friday. Will they break the rear on a soft launch? What rpms do I launch at and what psi do I run with 15's?

He said he dropped a second off his 1/4 mile on a bone stock GT with these so hopefully theylle cure my traction problem and help with ET's.

My bonestock 2v engine had been through 2 years of NX 100 shot, 3 years running 8-12lbs vortech s-trim, got into boost daily while racing on the weekends, had 157,000 miles on it, and was running like new

Few pointers i will say.

With skinnys you now have little tire up front so of course its going to brake worse, and in fact very long stopping distances. No worries if you are smart and take it easy on the street driving leaving lots of space you are totally fine. The wheels are thin up front and can bend so dont take turn fast. This has happened to lots of people and it sucks.

Now you got a stock rear so launching is up to you. Me if i got skinnys and fatties i am gonna use them and launch hard. If your worried about it, launch it like you would a drag radial tire and slip it out of the hole so you dont shock the drivetrain which is what leads to axle failure.
