can i put the tires from the stock 17" rims on 17x9's?

Biggest thing you put a 235 on is a 9" wheel. So yeah it will fit, but its gonna look strange i think.

I think he means the tire would fit, but look too small for the rim. The bead of the tire would sit out farther than the outer tread roll area...looks stupid.

Sorry should of explained that. Yeah the tire is soo small for that rim its gonna look weird becuase the sidewall is gonna be streched out to hold onto the rim for the little tire. Just do it if need be then upgrade to a larger tire when those wear out. Thats what i would do on the front, on the back i would go right to a larger tire if you replace the rear wheels with 17x9's as well.
