Default what tires on 15x9

I ordered 15x7 and 15x9 draglites for my 89 GT and i'm wondering what size tires to put on so that i have no rubbing problems. i know that the front won't be a problem but i just want to be sure on the rear i have no problems. Thanks

Two things will dictate how much tire you can run, offset and ride hieght. I roll 295/50s on 15X10 Draglites on my 67, although 275/50s fit better. BTW given your quote under your text, step up to front runners (15x3.5), got'em on my '67, 15x7s are too much rolling resistance.

well if rolling resistance has anything to do with drag racing or racing at all, i'm not worried about it. I haven't dropped in the 351 yet (that will be this winter coming up) so i don't plan on racing it. for right now i want good handling up front and better traction in back while still keeping the car basically stock (no mods to suspension) i'm prettysure i'm just gonna buy 255/60 for the 15x9. the diameter is a little over 27" and with the fronts being 235/60 they will be nearly the same diamter. I would rather not have the diameters off by more than an inch or so.

I saw a 67 with that set up on it, looked like a 4X4! I would consider a 265 or 275 50 for the rear and 215 or 225 60 for the front.
