help help help!!!

Ok first off I am new to the forums. So I would like to say HI to everyone!!!
I just bought a 2000 GT fully stock exept for front and rear steeda strut tower brace and sway bars. The other day I heard a loud clank from the right front tire. (it went like this: only when I have it in reverse with wheel turned then start to back up then I step on the brake and here a clank noise only once and it dont happen every time). I put it on a car lift to see if I could find anything wrong with it. The only thing that caught my eye was when I grab the top of the front wheel and push and pull I have about a 1 inch play on both sides. I am pretty new to working on cars so any info would really help the only thing I could come up with was the wheel bearing and hub.

Thanks

Could be worn tie rods.

might of found the problem but now something new????

Alrighty,
I found two loose bolts on my shock absorbers. I tightened them up and most of the play went away. but now when I put it in reverse and turn the wheel to the right to back out of a parking spot in now makes a ticking noise. any ideas???

If the 2 very large bolts that hold your strut to the spindle were loose, you need to get it to the shop for alignment and they'll give it a run through and let you know if aything else is wrong. Those bolts coming loose is a little scary.

The bearings in the hub assembly could be suspect now if you still have play in the wheel, along with tie rod outer or inner and ball joints.
