I dont know about that exactly. But my car is running on the stock Saleen Racecraft shock and strut suspension and I think Bilstien makes them and my car's handling is great.

the shocks and struts are pretty standard and Bils are killer without a doubt. The springs will determine your ride height and harshness so that's the variable there. I'd just get the starter box from Maximum Motorsports, then at least you can call them directly, ask them any question you can think of and they'll have the RIGHT answer the first time.

are you talking about the mm starter box? that thing is like 1k and I dont want to spend that much since my car is only going to be a street car. did you ever bilstein kit?

That's a proper kit. You'll probably have accelerated tire wear if you don't get the CC plates with the springs and shocks. You can take or leave the poly-urethane spring isolators for the 50 bucks or so they cost but the rest of the kit is well worth it.

I went the cheaping out route trying to limit the parts list wherever I could and I can tell you it's a terrible awful horrible idea. Do it right or live with stock suspension. Free advice, take it or leave it but you'll learn it one way or another.

This is not a cheap hobby. Get used to spending serious money for good quality high performance parts.

alright bro thanks alot for the advice. Are the bilstiens in the mm kit the same as the bts kit?

yep. bils are basically bils. Though if you're going lowered MM and I both recommend using the Fox body struts as they return a little bump travel to the system by being 1/2" shorter. They're otherwise identical.

I use bilsteins with my MM coil over setup and I couldn't be even a little bit happier with MM or Bilstein.

Bump from the dead for R3d

Im thinking of upgrading from Mach 1 Tokico's to Bilstein HD's and want to clear something up.

I have Steeda Sport Springs, lowered me all around by about 1.25 inches and have a linear spring rate of 650 lb in the front and 200-250 progressive in the rear. Think the Bilsteins will be good for this?

My main concern is the roughness of ride I have with the Tokicos. They have about 30-40k miles on them, have been great, but Im looking for something more comfortable for daily driving.

Also, since my car is lowered 1.25 inches, do you think I should get the fox body shocks and struts or just the 94-04 set. Thanks,

The Bilsteins will soften the big bumps and increase harshness on some of the smaller and more sudden bumps. I find them to be horribly comfortable for daily driving compared to single adjustables like tokico (Koni DA are tunable but I never liked koni... too stiff to start with).

Definitely get the fox-body struts and the SN95 spec shocks. That will help harshness at the extremes of jounce for the front.

You may find a little turn-in push up front after the bilsteins. If it's too much upgrade to a stiffer front sway bar.

If you don't already have it you should check out the MM panhard bar. It'll help to stabilize the car and you'll be able to tell better where it's not behaving like you want.

Thanks for the info. Panhard bar, eh, maybe, but this is just a daily driver until Im outta school. Just dont want to replace the shocks and struts again in 2 years.

Ill grab them in the next couple of weeks or so.
