The new 05 Stang Rant

Ok I read on here ALL the time about how most of you guys think the new Mustangs are so ugly and blah blah blah, you guys hate them blah blah blah but when a new member posts pics of theirs or even an old member gets a new one and posts pics you guys are all "oh man that thing is awesome" and give the guy/girl all sorts of props on how good the new car looks. What is up with that? I feel like you guys don't give your honest opinion and are acting some what two-faced. If I like something I will say so and if I don't I say so but I don't get while ya'll bash a car and then turn around and say it's nice??? Anyone else see this going on in the forums a lot?

LOL, Im kinda guilty, but, there are only certain parts of the new stangs that I dont like, therefore, its ok, plus, you own a silver mustang, so who the heck cares what you think...

Its just bandwagon bashers. Same thing happens down here with the Marlins as soon as they made it to the World Series everyone was a fan. I did not participate on the last Smack talk about the 05 . The issue is most are pissed that they are unable to get the latest and greatest stang.

I did this when the SN95 came out , I said how ugly it was and I would always drive my 85 SVO. If you have driven a fox body stang then climb in the sn95 its a whole different world as far as comfort and interior fit and finish. The 05 GT is the best stock GT that has been made and no 1 can argue that. As far as interior have you guys seen the 79-04 GT interiors they all look cheap and have nooooooooooo accents anywhere. Now we are all spending money on buying gauges,covers,etc to get rid of the boring look and the 05 has it stock.

If you had no current stang,no money issues and were able to buy the new 05 stang most of us would. There are alot of 05 owners on the forum and their stock 05 v6s and Gts looks nicer than some of our hooked up earlier model stangs. Now I feel better and I can go back to my corner in the fetal position and suck on my thumb.

i still don't like the fog lights (on gt's), 1/4 window (except for black where it looks like glass all the way across) and the wheels are too small.

This is just my 2 cents, so you know what that will get ya. But to tell you the truth we wouldn't have walked onto a Ford lot if it wasn't for the 05. We bought it in January then in March bought a 2005 F-150. Before the 05 Stang came out I would have never imagined owning one Ford let alone two! From what I've seen, there is a lot of enthusiasm for the new Mustang and that has helped Ford post some good gains in the profit section. At a time when automakers (especially American ones) are hurting anything that can get people onto the lot is a good thing.

I do have some issues with the car, I'm not ever going to tell you its perfect. But I will say that for me, Ford did a good job on the new Stang

I was one of the 05 bashers but can't be now.I love my wifes 06.I still like my 03 GT better but damn once you drive those things you kinda have a change of heart.Alot more room and they ride so damn nice it's amazing.I also was'nt a V6 kind of guy but she did'nt want a GT and I am still surprised on how good the new V6 runs.

I dont bash the 05's like them actually. For some reason the do seem bigger/bulkier than previous models which is pretty much the only think i dont like. I even like those damn fog lights that some ppl hate. I think they look much better the V6s that dont have em.

Some of you got what the thread was about but some missed it I think. I understand what you guys like and don't like about the 05 but the whole thing that got me aggrevated was the ones that dog the 05 all the time and then turn around and say how much they like someones? That is all.

I hated them at first but they have grown on me. I think alot of guys bash'm cause they can't afford them. Makes it easier to live with

I think it's great to hear opinions about this subject. I'm kinda isolated from the general '05 dogging, because the sites I usually frequent revolve around them. On a website dedicated to the 2005 where I am a moderator at, I'm usually the only one who will even remotely bash the car. It's far from perfect, I've had several things fixed on TSB's. For me, It's nice to hear why other Mustang owners aren't thrilled with the '05. I respect your points of view. Hopefully you can respect mine to and let me hang out here with my lesser car (it's silver for gosh sakes) even though we may not see eye to eye on the new Stang.

I have bashed on the 05's but i said there are some I like but most I don't. They had new 05's right next to the 04 I bought off the lot, and I definitely could have bought an 05. I don't care if anyone has an 05 and they love it, I'm glad they like it. I have driven an 05 gt and it was badass but i still prefer the 99-04 body style and I probably always will. They just look fast sitting still and the way the hood slightly overlaps the headlights makes them look plain pissed off.

BTW- Your 05 looks damn good. I'm talking about stock for stock.

Nothing is wrong with silver, I wish mine was silver or metallic red.

I never had any inling of ever buying a mustang till the 05 came out .Then the roush came out and it put me over the top and I had to have one. And I love every minurte. Now I am going to buy a matching shelby to go with it. Who would have thunk

Honestly I think the 05 are pretty nice. I originally didn't like them but they have grown on me a bunch. We just started a new Modular site and don't have an 05 forum simply because i don't know much about them. I am still trying to have all the answers to the new edge questions.

I still dont like the overall build of the 05 Mustang but I am partial to the Saleen. When someone does post pics of their 05 Stang, i just dont comment. Oh and i like the ones with the Eleanor body kit and the one Foose or whatever his name is building.

For the most part, I do not get too excited about them. However, there is one in Greer, SC where I live that makes me drool. It is a metallic blue color with silver racing stripes and what appears to be BC smoothie II wheels (18 or 19). There are not many V8s around here so I don't pay too much attention to many of them. I still like the 99-04 style better, especially the Cobras. If I had to give up my Z28, it would definitely be for one of those.

but honestly, the one thing that remains consitant is the fact that Ford SUCKS at making a nice stock body! lol, i think EVERY 99-04 mustang shoulda come with the chin spoiler...i can't stand the look without them, same with the new ones, the need a lil lowering in the front, lil beefier, but yeah ride quality felt good when i test drove one at the dealer.

I dont dislike the 05 nor am i drowling over it.. The gts look alright if they are not that lime green color ive been seeing around but i think the v6,s just look bad for some reason they look like a 4x4 to me..Either way if you put an 05 next to mine..No question i would take mine anyday

the 05 is sweet as hell i cant see why anyone wouldnt like it.. now on the other hand... the 94-98... you know the FEMStang.. .that thing is ugly as **** words cant even describe it.. i'd rather drive a civic then that POS...but it's just my opinion..

personally, i love the 05. I work at a Ford Dealership washing cars ( im only 16) and i always end up washing them right after the vans because i need a pick me up. The only exception is the 06 Tungsten. I had to wash one of those the other day and its purple not grey. I was so dissapointed as my dad was going to buy an 06 tungsten gt conv. but now hes not sure. i mean who wants a purple mustang?

ps: its only purple in low light, when it was in the showroom it looked a beautiful grey. but i live in canada so sunshine is minimal.
