Default Problems with In-Dash CD Decks

Is it common for most CD Decks to not fit inside mustangs??? I have an 02 Stang and over at bestbuy.com, they have this thing that automatically tells you when your shopping for CD/MP3 Decks if it will fit for your car after you put in the Make/Model/Year information of your car. Anyways after putting the info in, all of the 54 CD Decks DONT fit in my mustang. Neither do any of the MP3 or IPOD ready decks. Is this a common problem or what? I wanted to get a new a new CD/DVD player with the pull out screen to watch DVDs, but i guess i cant get one from Bestbuy.. :wallbash: I really wanted one from Bestbuy since i got 200 dollar gift card there....

Whats with hardly any CD Decks fitting in the Stangs!!!!!!

Just tell the installer at Best Buy that you want to purchase a deck and get it installed at a later date. I dont even bother with those touch screens and out dated gizmos in the display area.

hahah....i had this same question today so i went my circuit city and asked one of my old swimming pals who works there...he set me up right.....he literally gave me this product :Metra Installation kit its a pain in the butt to figure out....but the easiest way to iinstall an after market cd player is to have them install it.....jmo....but ive had the experience w/ them so i do it myself...im going to give my g/f the head unit outta my car and get a Jensen VM9410 ....ill post some pix of the finished product w/ the old head unit tommorow.....

so in a nutshell......just get them to install it for you...and make sure the aftermarket head unit is a 2"x7".....cause thats the only on that will fit properly....

I've had them install stuff in my Z71 I had before my Stang and they screwed it up more than once.I finally took it to a car audio shop and they did it right.

BB installers pretty much fried my Rockford Fosgate amp the first time they installed it but they did replace it.The second time they had the gains turned all the way up and said that was how it was supposed to be.

forgt bestbuy, go to a car audio specialist place where they do real custom work, tell em what you want, where you want it, and they will do it.

Hell, they actually fit a V-10 in a mustang, i have a hard time believeing they cant fit a deck in the stang
Exactly :stupid:

I agree with not going to best buy. We have an HHGregg, similar to best buy. I went there to have mine done, maily because the installer has a 99 stang so he' familar. Anyways had a 270 dollar pioneed head unit installed. Cost me 40 bux even to have him do it but I was in and out in less than 30 min.

BTW, the pioneer head unit is now for sale if anyone is interested.

Trust me guys, normally i wouldn't chose Best Buy for my Car Audio needs, but I got a 200 dollar gift certificate there and figured a good way to use it for my car would be to buy a new CD Deck. Any other suggestions on what I can get at Best Buy for my stang??? Dont really needs Amps or Subs since im pretty happy with the Mach 1000 sound system in the trunk....

I've got the 1000 and I'm leaving it all stock which is new for me because I almost always go aftermarket.Since the exhaust upgrade though that is all I want to listen too.

Don't let BB go anywhere near your Mach 1000. I had this system and removed it for a full Kicker system. They WILL screw that install up. There is a way to install an aftermarket deck on the Mach 1000 but the sound quality will suffer due to the impedence of the Visteon amps. And that's assuming they have the IQ to order the right parts and have the knowhow to do it. It's better to either leave the Mach 1000 as is, or totally remove it like I did.
