Default Busted Speaker

So the other day I had a nice surprise in the morning to find that one of the back 6x8s was busted. So I went and got a new pair from Wal-Mart nothing fancy. I have always told myself that I would NEVER get any kind of car audio equipment from there. But it was only like $50 so its w/e.

I installed them last night with success. But when I drove the car they go dead when the volume hits 5 notches on the Mach 1000 system that came with the car. I don't have the twist on wire caps so I used elec. tape. I'm going to Home Depot today to get some and try that. And if that doesn't work, I'm thinking battery perhaps? Any suggestions?

Or is the problem that the speakers are $50 and from Wally-World?

I have no idea about audio systems. All I can say is what my dad, who is a machinist/electrician and who has been playing music for 30 years said to me a couple weekends ago; "Give me a pair of $400 speakers and I'll make a $50 radio sound ******* good. Give me a pair of $50 speakers and and that $400 radio will sound like ****."

I went to a car audio place today. And they told me to check the connections on the speakers themselves. He also gave me crimp wire connectors as the twist ons will shake themselves off. Nice quote from your dad btw!

Walmart are crap thats why.

50 dollars you could have gotten wayyy better.

your mach amps put out 150ish watts or so I think.

Make sure the neg and pos terminals are connected right.

you prob blew the orgin speaker by playing it to loud with to much bass.

turn the bass level down on your HU then you can turn it up louder.

If you want more bass buy a sub
