Default Blackout, again.

I've always wanted the damn trunk gloss black but don't want to get it painted because that's a waste since I'm selling, but tried to put on the vinyl last year and fucked it up. Went ahead and ordered another one and this time hopefully I can get it on.

If it's just a vinyl, you need a spray bottle with some dish soap and water mixxed up. Spray the crap out of the car, you can soak the whole decklid if you want and get a plastic sqeegee(sp?) and smooth it out. The water/soap will squish out of the sides of it and it will dry out and stick like normal. I'd recommend putting it on the car when it's cool then move it out into the sun to dry out after you get it where you want it. If you try to do it without any soapy water you'll never get it on right and with no air pockets.

Yeah, I used soapy water last time. It's just the vinyl is so damn light and thin it wasn't to be a bitch and the corners don't want to stay down.

Yeah, I mean, anything pre-cut is going to be a bit of a stuggle.. My vinyl shop just makes whatever you need made, but he's been in the business for a long time. Honestly, the biggest mistake that most people who are foreign to placing vinyl make is that they are worried about overdoing the water/soap.. It's realllly difficult to make a vinyl not stick, they almost always retain their adhesive qualities.. I'm not sure who makes the vinyls for AM, but honestly if it's the same company that makes the magnetic blackouts for the '05+ have fun.. We went through two of them on my fiance's car and they just would not work. The cutout for the fake gas cap was way too small and it wasn't wide enough to cover the whole panel..

AM doesn't carry these, ordered it from rockymountaingraphics. And yeah, no matter how much soap/water solution I sprayed, the ******* thing wanted to stick in place and made it a huge pain in the ***. Also I'm gonna pull off the ford oval when I put it on, to make things easier.
