Default Changing 2000 GT gauge cluster color...

So I've been interested in changing my stock gauge color for a while now. I just find the green glow very bland. My buddy changed his to all red, but I want to have something that separates the main color from the read of the tach. I'm thinking a nice blue would be suiting. I'm just not sure how to go about this. I think that he said he sanded the paint off of the back of the stock cluster, and used red nail polish to re-color everything. I saw it and it came out pretty well. There were a few sports that looked a bit non-uniform, but he said that was because he rushed it. 00blkstanggt on here said that he just put in a blue LED behind his cluster, which gave the effect apparent in his sig. I like that, but I'm not sure how it would affect the red of the tach.

So basically, has anyone done something like this? I'm just curious to get some info before I start tearing everything apart. Thanks.
