Default New system today!

Well I went out and finally put some bass in my car today. My headunit it a sony chameleon, then the wires are run straight to TMA 5.25 2 way component sets at all four corners. I bought a 500watt boston acoustics 2 channel class a/b amp for the sub. Ended up buying a JL wiring kit and twisted interconnects. Then I got my old Eclipse 10" aluminum dvc out of the garage and bought a medium sealed box for it. Hooked it up and OMG! That 10" pounds! And its crystal clear! I cant believe it sounds so good, and this is MY system! finally! BASS! ahahahahahahahahha!!!

what do you think would make it sound better? Are you saying that my combo would sound bad or that you dont like the sound of subwoofers? I dont know anybody that didnt like a little bass in their music.

thats what im saying, Im just a normal person that wants good sound for a DD. i could build a system that would stomp one of matt's to the ground with enough money and trunk space. show me a nicer single speaker combo less than 500watts and youll impress me.

nice. My setup is 2 12" Rockford Fosgate p3's in a custom sealed box 4 guage wireing, 1.2 farad cap, Rockford fosgate power 1000watt mono amp birth certificate tested at 1445 watts. I have it bridged each sub is getting about 720 watts. I have my bass at -4 and can't turn my volume over 14 or it rattles the whole freaking car... Yea it pounds =D If I could do it over again I would probally just get 1 12" sub.

i started to sell everything slowly after i got it. i didnt want 200 lbs of stereo equipment in it and now i have a convertible as my other car.

i wouldnt say the "king of bass" i did leave with a state record though. its probably been beaten by now...

well I finished up the amp install today. Found an awesome arrangement to save as much space as possible. I have to put some landscaping equipment in my car sometimes. Like hedge trimmers, rakes, etc.

The box is perfect size to nestle in the passenger side rear corner of the trunk. I ran all the wiring. secured the ground supply. then I mounted the amp on the back of the speaker box. when I push the box into the corner, you can just see the vents on the top of the amp and the rest is hidden. it takes up like a little more than 1 cubic feet of space and leaves the whole trunk open for stuff i need to put in there.

just wanted to share my accomplishments today

What would be a nice setup for my 92 Coupe? I have a 10" Rockford P2(maybe 3, have had it in the garage for a while never opened). I was thinking maybe another 10, some tweeters, new speaker(rockford, boston?), maybe a 1000W+amp for the subs and another amp(500W?) for all the speakers? Any sugestions?

Thanks in advance
John
