If it is I've never had any trouble with it.I would'nt do the 3rd breaklight though in my opinion.I want the added break light so I know people can see me stopping.

Well I kinda worried about seeing me brake when I had my 3rd brake light tinted. So I put some LED bulbs in and they are bright as hell. You can see them during the day even through the tint.

Biggest problem is if someone rear ends you, that person may claim that they could not see your brake light due to the tint.

+1. I didn't do my third brake light either. Swervo's LED bulbs are a good idea though.

It truly depends on your state. As a person who is on the lookout for things such as this, be very carefull. If you get in a wreck or can't be seen at night or bad weather due to them, some states have an altered vehicle statute which can result in either a simple fix-it ticket or a bigger fine. Also pay attention to the wording on the packages. Many things say "not approved for highway or street use, off road use only. " Just because you can buy it, doesn't make it legal. Pull up your states criminal and traffic code rules and see what it says.

In Utah we have dumbasses who think the license plate is ok on the dash. Our law specifically addresses where it goes and you only need one car accident where someone ate the license plate in the head or mouth to realise not smart. I don't pay attention to it if there is no front plate at all, but will grab a car with a plate on the dash. Don't give the cops a reason to grab you bro. There are alot of ******** popo's out there.

i got mine done and the 3rd brakelight are the leds as well, never had a problem. anyways here in texas, i believe it states that brakelights have to be visible from 300ft. when turned on and 1000ft. when applied. you should be able to find out what kind of laws are in affect in your state by looking it up at you department of motorvehichles.
