To be honest, hit up a car stereo forum and ask them, they can give you more than you want to know. Your questions are general and not specifically deal with the mustang stereo, so they should be able to answer them.

Dual isn't bad, they're the cheap brand. I'm in to car audio a lot and if you want some high quality stereo stuff you're goin' to want to go with Alpine or Pioneer. If you get into subs and amps then you should go with Alpine, Kicker, MTX isn't bad, and a couple others.

Im still in a perdiciment
I am thinking about getting a Dual CD Player.Also a Infinity AMP (1650 Watts). Then 4 pioneer door speakers and i already have 12" pioneer subs. I've been told it will be distorted. That it wont be its acually good for cheap. And The amp sucks. But the amp will make it bomb. So witch is it? It's a sealed box for the subs.

I had problems
I had a dual cd player before and after 2 months the face plate would not move anymore...many ppl that i know are having problems couple of months after they buy them. Dont be cheap buy what you want right off the bat if it means saving money for 2 or 3 months do it for it is worth it on the end to have what u want.
I had to save up numerous times esc. for the my stereo system and everything on my car but its worth it know and it will most likely last way longer also!!!i am pretty good with car auido things i work at a Custom audio shop for cars
Additions to my Silver 2001 v6 Mustang
1. Stalker 2 body kit with side scoops
2. Stalker 2 Dual Vented Hood
3. Halio Smoked Headlights
4. Smoked Tailights
5. Street Glow Underbodies (Red)
6. Zex Dual Purge Kit with Red LEDs (The Nitrous system is getting installed as we speak)
7. Pioneer touch screen CD player, two P3 12' subs which are molded into my fiberglass rear delete seat kit with 2,400 Rocksford Amp.
8. Two 12' t.v.s molded into my trunk
9. Black with Chrome lip 18' rims with Kumho low profile tires
10. Dual Black Racing stripes
11. Billet *****, power windows etc *****
