Best Wax For Black Cars
We all know that black cars are the dirtiest. My 1998 Black Gt has gone throught many waxs and im trying to see which one will restore my paint the best and give it a long wash after wash shine. I hate black cars even though when they are clean they LOOK THE BEST!!!!! Ive tried Meguairs 3 stage and meguairs gold and they both come off easily after the first wash and only shine for a little while.!!! I LIVE IN SUNNY CALI PLEASE HELP

Ive use turtlewax black every 3rd wax, seems to keep the black a bit richer. but doesent shine as well. Some people have had excellent luck with Zymol.
Welp, you got the best color of mustang period. Unfortunatly it comes with a price.

If you want something to last long then you need to use a sealer. You need to apply the sealer differently then you would a Carnauba wax. Use your polish/ swirl remover to get the swirl marks out. Then dont put on any kind of Carnauba wax/ glaze. After using the polishes, wash the car and apply the sealer. Let it settle for 24 hours then apply the Carnauba wax to give it that shine. Reapply the Carnauba wax every 2 months or so. The best Carnauba wax for black cars is Souveran. Other good brands are DP Max Wax, Natty's Blue, and Pinnacle Series II.

Klasse is a good product, make good sealers. DP also came out with a new sealer which has gotten good reviews. Then you also have Poorboys EX-P and Meguairs.
Might want to read some of this stuff...

To answer your question regarding what is the best wax for black paint my personal opinion would be Pinnacle Souveran (about $70 for the little container) but this stuff does just amazing things to black paint. Below are some pictures of my car after using Pinnacle Souveran and the LSP and Menzerna Products as the other steps including claying the car. Hope this helps out.
This image shows no marring or any surface imperfections:
Great clarity:

I just tried some of the Turtle wax ICE on my hood today and DAMN that is some cool stuff.I'm going to do the rest of the car tommorow and see how it goes.Very easy to apply and remove and left it smooth and reflective as hell.

Has anyone tried Nanowax. I'm not sure but after I used it I started noticing minute scratches on the hood. There aren't any scratches on the body. So I'm not sure if it was the wax or a cheap paint job to sell the car. I just bought it on 9/11/06. And by the way it's my first Mustang.

Yeah it was wash real good before applying the wax. I used the sponge that was included in the package to put it on. I used the micro fiber that was included to remove it. It was applied outside in cool weather as per instructions. The car was also cooled off.

Todd03blown That is one hell of a shine. The car looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah I noticed that a few of the spots that I thought were scratches wiped off a couple of days later. I'm disabled so it's hard for me to rub off the polish as good as I want. I'm going to get a buffer for my cordlees drill.
