I have a 86 Gt that I am prepping for paint and my question is how far do I sand down the paint? Do I go all the way to bare metal and them primer it? And what grit sand paper should be used? I have a attachment wheel on my drill but I need to know what grit sand paper to put on it. Any help would be appreciated.

well i'm taking auto body classes this semester and i was told you need higher than 600 grit sandpaper. i'm pretty sure that you can't get this from any old store but i'm not exactly sure. i hope that helps a little bit
