where did you buy the dupli-color paint?

SxyXc 04-22-2007 07:22 PM

This is my project for today, I was going to order Cobra brakes for the back to match the front, but I've decided on just painting them to match. I picked up a jack, torque wrench and duplicolor for under $50 at Autozone. $200 for new pads and rotors at Discount Tire, and I saved $200. Has anyone sanded the caliper before painting? I think you could get a smoother result.

SxyXc 04-23-2007 01:45 PM

on my front one i sanded them a little and it was smother the first coat, but then to get it to be really smooth you have to get something like 600 and sand a couple layers before your last. but don't sand the last layer and it might come out smooth.

Codiddy 04-27-2007 10:37 PM

the instructions on the paint that comes in the duplicolor kit say you should sand the caliper first. it helps make it really clean so the paint sticks. i just did this project over the past couple days and i think it looks really good, and the kit was only 15 bucks.
