Lightbulb Probability of expanding Venom Nitrous kits for other applications?

Hey Guys,

This is my first post here, and I was hoping to get some feedback from others. I currently drive a 97 DOHC Mustang Cobra, and was highly anticipating installing the Venom Nitrous Kit offered currently through Mustangtuning. The price was phenomenal, and they are the only people carrying the kit im aware of, and the shipping was free. What more could you ask for. Unfortunately, Bob at Mustangtuning politely replied to my comments in the order regarding the specific model application for the Venom VCN 1000 Nitrous kit i ordered, and said it was a 99-03 Application. Darn the luck...(things never work out when you want them too huh? haha)
Anyway, what would it take for Mustangtuning to carry the lineup for the 96-98 Cobras? (at that Price ) Would it be possible to speak with someone about putting together a group purchase if they didn't want formally update the lineup? I'd rather not purchase any of the other kits on the market, I am partial to the Venom kits, as the only experience ive ever had with nitrous is in reference to the import scene...where their kits are highly regarded. I'm not doing a wetshot, NOS systems aren't computer controlled, and i think i'd rather die then put a purple bottle in my car. So that pretty much narrows it down. Just throwing it out there. Thanks guys!

Phil K.

Edit by Chris: We DO have Venom kits available for all apps. Just make sure you note your car, and we will have the correct one sent. There are kits for 97 DOHC. I think we already contacted a customer for this.

Have you checked with Venom directly to see if they offer the kit for your Cobra. You made to give them a call as they offer a few kits that aren't listed. My friend (shameless camaro owner) wanted to get a kit as well and they did not have his 96 LT1 listed, however after calling they do offer a kit to fit. Just worth a shot. But as you mentioned you probably won't get the kick a!@ price that mustangtuning.com offers. IRS PLEASE HURRY UP im ready to place my order!!! LOL

According to Venom's website, they do not have one listed for your car.

I had ordered the Venom Kit from Mustangtuning last Friday, and wrote in the comments section about how i was curious as to whether or not it was Make/model specific...and if so to let me know before shipped out.

Bob @ mustangtuning sent me and Email saying that the Kit was only for 99-04, but he didn't know the difference between the kits. He then put my order on hold and asked me what i wanted to do.

I replied and stated that I was really looking forward to the kit, but understood that he can't control what model/make his wholesale purchase from Venom was. I told him that if it were at all possible to get the kit for my car through mustangtuning at their great price...that i would purchase it immediately.

He sent a reply stating that he would talk to his purchaser and research which Kit I needed. I Told him that would be superb.

I recieved another email 2 days ago that He researched and had found the kit that i needed, and that he would have it drop shipped from the manufacturer to my door for the same price.

I sent a Reply stating that If he did that he'd be my new Best Friend. And i praised him for going out of his way to help out a customer. I really am not Positive whether or not this kit will be specific, but i don't see why it wouldn't work. There is nothing on the website to denote SOHC or DOHC anywhere, and i thought i read somewhere about the 99-04 kit working on Cobras so...I dunno. I'll just cross my fingers when i get it, and I will be calling Venom-Performance to verify that it's the correct kit, and to kit some more insight about several things.

I have many questions (At least 4 or 5) about how im going to hook up this kit, and with various accessories. I guess my first question will be...

Does anyone know the Cheapest place to get an NX Automatic Bottle Heater? Or is a Blanket a decent/cheap alternative?

Thanks in advance, and I'll let everyone know how the install and kit goes.
Phil

P.S. MT's #1 Customer, I have a few specific questions regarding installation, but first what can you tell me to look out for?

When you get the kit, there will be a support number to call. Be sure to call and verify that you have the proper kit for your car.

Venom includes generic wiring instructions with the kit. It is rather cumbersome, but effective. The instruction detail at length how to determine what wire is what for all the required connections. My kit ALSO came with a "cheat sheet" specific to my car which made the install really simple.

For example, for tapping into the TPS, the instructions go into detail about how to determine which of the three wires is the correct wire. You need a voltmeter etc.. The cheat sheet simply stated "grey wire". R U following me? Worst case senario is that the kit won't work. Best case, is that it will AND you will get the "cheat sheet" for your car. OR, the kit will work, but no "cheat sheet."

The hardest part with any nitrous install, is laying everything out and determining where you want everything installed. Then, the rest is just taking your time and turning screws.

When you get the kit and you are ready to hook everything up, send me a PM and I will give you my phone number. I can give you some time savers.

Mustang bug bit me again. I havnt had a musting since 1994, I got rid of my 1991 GT with a Cartech intercooled turbo systems. 14PSI, 36 points on my licence and a good accident made me get rid of it!!!

Gotta do that seat mod. 6 Ft 2 and my knees feel like they are next to my ears!!!

By the way. Hello all!! Im new to the forums, but i've had 9 mustangs though my 37 years. 70 mach 1 was my first. $1800 when i bought it in $25K condition on todays prices!!!

Nevermind found it. Im also the super computer geek. Im a Moderator @ www.xtremesystems.org and www.xtremeresourses.com, first forum i've joined where i didnt list my comptuer specs in the sig!!!! :icon_thum

Im going for a dry system over a wet. Last wet system was on a 89 forumula 350, 8 port fogger system in the TPI Runners 250HP shot. I had a dual fogger nozzle system before that, but didnt like the backfire everyonce in a while. It mounted @ the throttle body.

Im just looking for an extra 75-100hp, Safe and reliable this time.
