Default Tighter plug gap for nitrous use...question

I asked this a while ago...looking for more people to chime in

When tightening the plug gap to 0.035 for nitrous use(100 shot on a 99 GT)....how is performance/driveability affected when not spraying? Does the smaller gap mean less power when nitrous is off...just wondering

I think a few people said they didn't notice a difference.

Also, are the stock COP's adequate? I installed a set of Granetelli "super" COP's and they were crap! Had a misfire...put the stockers back on and fine! $400 down the drain(I learned the hard way once again). I had them for over a year before installing...so no return/refund. Also, two of the ears broke off when tightening down...they are junk

When I got my car tuned with my 100 shot, Ed Clark told me the plugs should be gapped at .030, not .035 like a lot of people on the internet say. So before I gapped them to .030, I ran them at .035 for awhile. I didnt notice any driveability or performance differences with either gap. Also, the stock ignition system including COPs are fine. You dont need to upgrade any of that stuff. If you do, you are wasting money.

stock COP are very good and don't need to be messed with till you are very higher up in the HP rang. I run mine at .035'' and its fine off the bottle. Infact I am gonna open the gap up to .040" as I have no spark blow out problems with my car at all and hell the 03-04 cobras come gapped at .056" from Ford with boost. Just goes to show how good the stock COP are.

Nitrous is a lot harder on plugs than boost is.
