Default new tune?

I changed my plugs last night to NGK TR6's after looking up what alot of you guys used. First off that was a b*tch! lol Anyways I was curious of whether I need a dyno tune after just switching plugs? I know it sounds like a dumb question but when I started it up after the plugs were installed it seemed to idle ALOT stronger but still at around 1100 RPM at first and then it settles down. I also thought about getting new COP's but what is the conclusion on the ones to get? I want to get the MSD's if I do because of their reputation and my car is red and black. I just want to be cautious and not hurt the motor.

no you don't. I would hope that new plugs idle better. they spark better when they're new.

you have zero reason to get new coils at the boost level your wynjammer is capable of. don't waste the money. Those things are as strong as they need to be. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY GRANATELLI parts. They make COP units but they're a shitty company.

Thanks Redneck you always seem to answer my questions lol. Yeah I was hoping that's all it was. Maybe Ill just look into getting new stock ones then. I was looking at all the negative posts about the GMS and it never crossed my mine to get them. I was just looking at the cost of stock vs. MSD and was wondering if the MSD ones are good. I am not worried about the money just anything that may be a little better than stock and look better. When I went to get my car tuned months ago two COP's had failed and had to be replaced so I am kinda worried about the others. The idle seems abit off and it was hard to tell if it is because of where the IAT sensor is or if it was the same sound it made when two cylinders werent firing right. The car seems to run strong and smooth but at idle is where it sounds kinda funny.

I'd still get stock replacement COPs if you're looking to replace them for wear-n-tear reasons. Parts like sensors and coils and electronic stuff I like to stick with genuine Ford. They're the only ones that seem to be able to make things like that that will last.

Thanks for the fast responses. Do you think I could actually see a power gain from running the colder plugs and getting a new tune? I dont think I will get a tune but I am just curious.

depending on your tune and timing and all that colder plugs may allow you to run more timing which will usually make a little more power (to a point, go too far and motor goes boom). the new tune.. shouldn't really be required but you have to be the judge of that. If nothing else a quick run to verify the AF is where it should be isn't a bad idea.

yeah I kinda figured that would be the situation. By the way, I am doing alot of little things to my car right now (changing all fluids, new gaskets, spark plugs, K&N filter, new COP's, serpentine belt, supercharger serpentine belt, i put on a oil seperator a little while ago, etc.) I am also looking into doing the cooling mod. I figured you may have done it yourself or maybe someone has but I am looking for a site that might sell the cooling mod as a kit. If not what exactly do you need? I know this is described in full detail elsewhere but I am curious to see if a place has it complete and ready to go.
