Default now i dont no what to do

i was going to get the p1sc but now the kb is looking like a better bet. i dont no what to do cus i want the best power but i love the loud wineing sound u dont get wit the ati p1sc.the roots and vortex from what i have read and heard on here really arent the best for makeing power. i just want to be below 12's like 11.5 to 11.9 and i will be happy. which sc do u think will help me do this with out losing the great sound u get from one.

From what I have seen, twin screw blowers make higher trap speeds. That should make it easier to get into the times you are looking for. They just make more power down low and its great up top also. I love the sound of a nice roots or twin screw blower when your giving it boost.

The procharger will make for easier traction and probably able to run fast times also. I guess it just whatever you like.

the p-1sc will be faster in the 1/4 - but upgrade to a d-1 - you'll be better off in the long run
kb= more kick in tha pants fun
procharger = better timers
the kb will lose power up top while the centri's will keep on making it till she blows

i love the big block pull of the KB but it can be a pain to hook up.
glad i went with the procharger though. everyone told me when i get on it, the procharger is loud as heck from the outside.

now when u say loud as heck what kind of noise does it sound like. i no its not really a whine and i cant find a good vid of one being that loud. most seem to be over taken by the loud exhuast most mustangs have and kinda sound more turbo then anything else when u do hear it that is. i just want to here maybe a couple of fly byes to really here what their sound really is. oh and ps most of my racing is done on the high way 9 out of ten times so thats another thing to keep in mind which will be better for that is also a very big factor.

they say loud as heck like a gear whine type i guess. i can hear it inside the car but its hard to explain. if i go under an overpass and hit the gas the exhaust does not drown the sound of the blower. both can be heard loud and clear.if you are playing on the highway and the rpm's are up any centri blower will b making boost.

If you got the cash, go for the KB man, get the intercooled kit and don't look back. I can tell you for sure that it pulls like a rampant Clydesdale. I have a video posted over on streetfire. ****ty video quality but you can get the idea.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...EE1132907B.htm

watch the gage on the steering column when I nail the gas. It whips over from ~20in vacuum to 7psi boost in a split second, literally.

If its whine you want, you want the procharger, if its instant torque, neck snapping power, and kickass powerband you want, get the KB. Every KB GT Ive heard has been pretty quiet. :shrug:

Procharger = more horsepower.

to me Power is the end-all so the choice is easy.

My brother has an 01 KB GT vert, it pulls like no other now after a good tune,the tune KB sent us (SCT) sucked, alot. (like 280rwhp lot) but now after the tune he is making over 355 rwhp. That is the 6psi kit... and the guy doing he dyno showed us the graph the first time (i wasnt there for the good tune) but the power just kept going up. The higher RPM he went with the pull (i think he stopped at 5.5 the second time) and it just keeps going up, the power is definately there with a twin screw... he didnt go with the 9+psi intercooled becase this is his daily driver and he wants it to be reliable etc.

he didnt intercool it because he wanted it to be reliable?

Anyone ever heard the old addage that horsepower is impressive but torque wins races? Just because one blower porduces more peak torque doesn't mean that car will be faster. What if you have a narrow, peaky powerband? You shift and you're right back out of the band. With a wide, flat powerband you shift and you're right back in the meat of the powerband. To me, that's how you build a fast car.

I have a KB running 9 lbs, and I don't think my peak #s are too shabby. *shrugs* If you want more hp than that, you'll need a built shortblock anyways.

So in the end, the question will be, are you planning on getting built or will you stick with the stock block? If former, you might want to go a different route, such as centri, KB 2.2L, or twin turbos. But if you're staying stock, then the KB 1.7L will deliver more than enough.

well supercharged powerbands tend to be better then N/A power bands anyway, so your stepping up no matter what.

I like the Procharger because you can always upgrade the P1sc to the D1sc for $1300. With the KB you have flat out buy the 2.2 from the start $$$$$

Yeah but unless you want over 550 RWHP, the 1.7L is plenty big.

well i called the shop that works on mustangs called valley performance and they siad not to go wit the kb or procharger. but to go wit the saleen kit. now what the heck do i do. his reasoning was that they are easier to install and if something breaks easier to fix and they just look nicer. noise level at a stop u wont even know u have one but at wot they are pretty loud. is this maybe a better route. pretty much i just want my car to be a HIGHWAY car as that is where most of my racing is done. what is the best blower on the markect to make it the best on the highway so i shut these 4 bangers up "evo, sti, and srt4" that live around the block from me. who at the moment walk all over me every time and make sure to rub it in every time.

You're going to pay more money for less power with the Saleen kit. I don't know why a KB would be harder to fix than the Saleen. It's not like there's anything tucked or hidden or locked away on the car with the KB kit. Something just doesn't sound right.

The saleen setup is not a bad blower it just doenst pack the punch of a KB or a procharger. And if its a gighway runner you should deffinatly go ATI all the way.

word...but kb is hella sexier under the hood

but yea like the said...a centri blower like the procharger will keep making boost the more rpms you go...prochargers make pretty good numbers too
