Default Ehh.. What the heck.

I think that Dave is probably the only person that can REALLY appreciate this particular mod, but I figured I'd post it up anyway.

I decided to do the Radio/Shifter bezel Silver like the Mach's. The only problem with this was the Shifter bezel, the moron that owned the car before Dave decided to DRILL HOLES in it so that he could mount his XM or something like that. I think there were a total of about 6 holes drilled in the stupid thing, needless to say, I took a crash course in bondo today! haha!

I had better close up pictures, but apparently my computer decided that I didn't need them anymore. So, this is the only picture I have that shows it before. Dave tried to cover them up a bit with one of his infamous 281 logos, but it still showed a couple of the holes.

All black and Charcoal. Eventually I am going to get some racing seats, black with light gray suede inserts.

The only other Silver accents in the car that I know of are my Simco gauges.

YAY! lol. It's really not shiny at all, I did 2 coats of clear on it to dull it down just a little. It actually turned out VERY similar to the stock Mach version, just has a tiny little bit of flake in it. Pretty much exactly what I was going for.

Looks good, Evan. I really like the lack of shininess that there is in the paint...glossy looks cheap.

those Simco gauges have to be $200+, AKA ripoff. they look nice though. same for the silver centerpiece.

i looked at the website, yeah, 199.99 for my model year. ripoff.

You can get them cheaper from jegs.com. I picked mine up from there for like $169 or something like that. They are even cheaper for 96-98. Doesn't seem like a rip off when you consider how much the auto meter version is.

BTW I like the silver in the radio surround it's nice and subtle.

He keeps saying that... But I think somewhere deep down, he knows that he misses it, even if it's just a TIIIINNNYYY little bit.

That's what I was going for, just basically wanted it to be as close to the Stock Mach1 package that I could make it.

I guess that's all opinion.. If I had the extra cash laying around and wanted a subtle interior upgrade, as well as something that makes the gauges much easier to see at night then I would definitely buy them.. Seeing as how I bought them with the car, I didn't have to feel the pain of the $200 coming out of my wallett for them.

yeah the stock guages in V6's and Gt's suck. Those simco guages are huge improvement and look awesome!

The center bezel looks good! But what radio head unit is that? Is that just the base model headunit? Because I have the mach 460 and and don't have the tape deck, but my brothers 01 that is a V6 and has the base stereo system has that head unit.

LOL, Brandon! I didn't/ am not going to paint my door bezels though, so there.. You can be unique. But actually, you copied Ford, just like me..

I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do as far as the stereo in the car.. Part of me wants to just try to find a Mach 1k setup and do it that way, but part of me wants to get a little 10" and maybe like a 5-600 watt 5 channel amp.. Dave already put some Pioneer components in it, with RCA's run, etc.. But at the same time, I don't want more weight. I'll probably end up taking the spare tire and everything out if I do a sub/amp. I'm also trying to scope out a deal on some of the Mach 1000 A pillar tweeters, but they are a little pricy for me.. I may just try to fabricate some aftermarket tweeters in the existing A pillars.

Why don't you do the tweeters in the little black triangle deals on the doors. Also, if you end up putting a 10 in, I've got a JL W3 for sale for pretty cheap.. lol.

Center looks nice

That's what I'm considering.. Something very similar to what My Stratus has stock. Infinity Tweets in the A pillars.

PS. How Cheap is "pretty cheap?"

lol evan..

as for your sound system, your better off just getting your own setup. my single 12" sub with 1200watt amp and pioneer 2 ways sound 100 times better than a mach 1000. and its cheaper than a mach 1000. the only thing i need to do is put in my tweeters. i bough the triangle thingys, just have had time to do anything with it yet.

75 bucks. Sub is still in great shape and will give you great bass.

My tweeters are installed right there... Alpine component system front and back.. tweeters right there, and I love it. Running 1 JL 10 in there (I had 3 in my trunk for a while but the weight really killed me)
