Default retro/modern mustang build up project.

I"m posting this on behalf a friend, so i'll be as true to the info as i can. this is the car, well, what it used to be. sorry for the bad pic quality and size.

i say what it once was, because it has very little left of what you see. the car has been modified to the extent that it is no longer the stang you see, but a custom built car, with that cars shell wrapped around it. it is now a body on frame car, that will be one hell of a retro/modern street ripper.

here are a couple more pics.

the early stages or deconstruction

the outer shell, no longer a unibody, braced awaiting the custom frame.

speaks for it self

trial fitting of frame

the new frame, and major part of the build

starting to become one again

frame in shell

trial fitting of the tires for soon to come suspension and ride hight set-up

more trial fitting

yet more trial fitting

upskirt shot

close to how the car will sit.

the engine will eventually become a twin turbo 6.8l v10.

for slightly more info, this is a repost i just made in the "5.4l swap thread." please follow this link for more information.

i hope you guys like it.

its never a good idea to predict numbers this early, but if all goes well those nitto DR's may need to be sold in favor of some more serious rubber. haha

looks like a lot of work to be done there, nothing like re-working the wheel of Ford.

Good luck with it!

I'm not cutting up anything. my friend is.

externally, it should retain its stock appearance. it will be reborn as one of the baddest 69 mach 1's to ever hit the street.

he is going v10, just to be different. twin turbo v10 at that. as well as the body work is to be different AND SAFE. i'm sure if the stock body was strong enough to handle 4 degit power figures, there would be no chopping and welding. although shamefull to some, and outright WRONG to others, it is a necessity.

the engine is a Modular 6.8l v10. ideas are being thrown around as how would be the best way to achieve 428ci of discplacement.

the project, like most of its kind, is on temperary standstill for the time being. the owner is in the pocess of relocating and setting up business in a new area.

I'm the one he posted this for....

thank you for whoring this out for me man, I need any/all opinions that will help me reach my goal, I am in no means narrow minded enough to think I know everything, and that I can come up with the best ideas for everything. But obviously my decision is my decision.....so I may not take all opinions on it...

as for cutting up the car, the floors were badly rusted out, the paint was pretty bad (50 ft car), and it didnt have the original engine......

It had a 428 CJ in it (was bored .040 over, and crank .030 under)

Now IF the idea of me cutting up a 69 Mach 1 pisses you off.....this will really set you over (if you know build specs), it is a S-code, 4spd, candy-apple red and flat black car

basterdizing it would be giving it a chevy heart.

i'd much rather see this happen to a mach 1, than the sight of a chevy engine in even the cheapest of fox bodies.

I will def. get more pics as progress comes along, I have to be sidetracked for a bit though, as where I am moving, I have no garage and therefore no place to work (just gives me time to save $$$), the plan is to put in a garage next summer, and as soon as thats in, work should be going pretty quickly from there....

pics of completed, most def., who knows, maybe some magazines as well.....not gonna rush it though, it will be done when it is done, and it WILL take a lot of time
