The car definitely needs some work. Overall, it looks to be in pretty good shape. I have no idea how much it would be worth though, not sure how rare it was when built, but you won't see many on the road these days. If the price is right, it looks to be a great project car.

Thats not a 83 bumper its an 85 so it looks like to me its a junkyard created GT out of different years. I would frequent the JYs when I had my old 81 stang and I converted the front to an 85 which is direct fit. The only value that it has is the one you give it. http://www.mustanggt.org/83gt.htm IMO its a piece of turd which the seller is trying to polish it but at the end its a turd.

Didn't the 83 Gts come in white with a red "shelby" side stripe along the rocker that said GT 350 or something along those lines? I thought I remember Ford getting into some trouble for that. That black car is anything but rare, other than the fact that it's still around.

Yes you are correct about the stripes could of been 83 or 84, that link has good facts about the fox bodies but no way it came from factory with that bumper.

Actually the car is pretty rare, desirable no, but rare just the same. '83 was the 1st year of the fox convertibles, and with a V8 and a manual, it's just that much better. Not much of that car is actually '83 vintage though.

I dont think that was his point... just stating it isnt one of the much more numerous automatic I4's produced that year...
