Looks real good man. What year is that?? I'm a first time ford owner at 45 yrs old. Used to be a chevy man all my life but I jumped ship. Anyway I'm not too familiar with the different year body styles yet..

Well its a 89 LX 5.0L Hatchback. They started this design in 87 and ended in 93. They are considered Fox bodies. The earlier yet similar Fox bodies had different headlights ie 84-86. They also made the LX notch which was a little lighter then mine. It looks the same except the rear has a trunk and not a hatch. There is also some more suttle differences between the 87-93's. The steering wheel changed along with some changes to the engine. Now the GT's had different molding and taillights. I prefer the LX because it seems a little more clean (not over done) and is lighter then the GT. Now different years and different models had different rear end ratios too. Ford did make a Cobra model of this in 1993. An SVO was made before 87 which had a turbo charged 4 cylinder. You could really tweak the boost on those. They came with 5 lug and adjustable suspension. That would be the only 4 banger I would ever buy! 7.5" rear ends were found in the earlier models which changed to the 8.8" rear ends later.

Looks great man, I am having to fight the itch to go out and buy a notch back for a fun project for my dad and I to dabble in. They are just such great looking cars. Too bad all the people that want to sell the notches think they are worth GOLD. I swear its like 5k for a LX 5.0 notch with over 100k on the clock...
