Nice! Whats the word on HP with the SLP? And sound vs stock exhaust? I've heard mixed reviews coming from various forums. Some say the aftermarkets are no better than the stock stainless manderal bent exhaust. Have you had enough time to determine that for yourself? Are you using a tuner such as The Predator?

Some say 8-10 HP some say 5-8 HP. Either way it is not a gain you will notice. As for sound I think there is a big difference from the stock system. Just at an idle it is a much throatier tone. Quiet when cruising, but awesome when you get on it. I stopped by the dealer where I bought the car and let them listen to the exhaust. I went up the street and got on it. All they could say was NICE !!!!!!!!

Almost forgot no other mods yet. Thinking about putting on some stripes vinyl or paint? Talking to some people who drive race cars who use nothing but vinyl. What about the tuners are they easy to due? Maybe next year.

Debating on an exhaust myself, but I think I'll wait a bit longe before doing any intake, exhaust or tuner.
I just picked up my '05 GT last week. It came with dealer installed, ford racing stripes. It does make the car look HOT, but they are not perfect (admitadly I'm kinda anal about my cars) there are light marks from the squeegee and the black shows fine scratches. I know from putting some on other cars myself that its not the easiest of jobs to make it perfect. I tried to get the dealer to redo them but since they didn't charge me the $495 dealer cost to put them on they only offered to take them off not replace them. I'm leaving it for now. I think painting them on is the best solution but can be pricey to get it done right. Then again the decals can always be removed. You can get the decals cut yourself at a sign shop for $35-70 as opposed to the $295 Ford kit. |
