Default GT vs Bullitt (2001)

Hey People,

My girlfriend is in the market to buy a used car. We've found a nice Bullitt for sale for a good price. Now I know the Bullitt has got a few more ponies then the GT but thats about it. Could someone please take a few minutes to explain all the differences between the two? I've done a search and didn't really come up with much.

Thanks in advance.

-Charles

As far as I know the only differences between the Bullitt and the GT is that the Bullitt has a better intake manifold, rounded exhaust tips, and some interior dress up items. I know the Bullitt has more hps, but its not by much. I'd go with the GT, its probably going to cost less.

Hey, Thanks for the input. The used car dealer that we're dealing with has two Mustangs on his lot. He said he'd let either of them go for 11,900. So if I can get the Bullitt for the same price as the GT, I think I'm going with the Bullitt.

Bullitt also had a better suspension and exhaust (Arvin mufflers) besides the dress up items. They really only make 5 hp more than a GT but with that manifold you have better potential for heads and cams down the line. Also much better manifold if you want to spray it.

Go with the Bullitt as it will be worth more than the GT later down the road. Plus if you going to add a power adder nice to know you dont have a plastic intake .

the bullit is also sporting bigger breaks then the gt. you also have seats that feel way better then just a regular gt im looking to get a true blue bullitt not too many around here in the east coast for a good price. pretty much the bullitt is the best out of the gt bunch. and it will hold its value as more and more bullitts get totaled out theres about 3500 to 4000 left out of 5500. most of them are accounted for. my roomate has one and its pretty sweet. and mine is still faster then his hahaha

dude if you can get the bullitt for 11900 your a god i tryed to get a true blue in kind of bad shape for 13500 but the dealer was staying firm at 15500 the damn car had 10k more miles then my mustang and its a year older.

I'm pretty sure the Bullitt has a cast iron block not aluminum. I forgot about the brakes, they are bigger. I think it was just the same brakes as the Cobra with the calipers painted red.
The additional 100 lbs. of the block gave it a low center of gravity and it out handled the 01 Cobra in a road course shoot out. I would buy the Bullitt over a GT for the same price any day of the week.

I am unaware of any 2V having an aluminum block except Explorers? The Bullitt intake set-up will cost you at least $1000 to do on a GT so keep that in mind. If the price is close or the same I would definitely go with the Bullitt!

Thumbs up No Brainer

Go w/ the Bullitt for even close to the same price. Ltd. edition model will hold it's value better, plus all the aforementioned goodies that came on the Bullitt from the factory. Just do it!

Bullit has 13" brakes (cobra brakes w/o cobra letters)
Better suspension (bigger sway bars, stiffer springs, lower also, better shocks and struts)
Bullit intake is alot better thats why people who make big 2V power pay 1000+ for one.
All the bullit trim (seats, gauges, tips, exhaust, shift ****, etc)
Highland green, blue, and black only available colors.

The bullit engine is identical to the GT engine from the intake down. It is not aluminum, same cast block as GT.

If they are the same price get the bullit, wingless rules.

For that price, get the Bullitt, I see them go for 16k-18k all the time.

If you don't, tell me where it is, my friend will buy it.
