Hey I was wondering because i havent decided if i wanna go auto or stick.... I was readin about the auto if u drop the 4.10 and a torque converter or somethign like that it will be faster than a 5speed....but then stick is more fun to drive... will a stick be faster than auto or not?!?!?. is there any other gears than 4.10 or the 4.10's are the best for auto cause ima daily driver if i was to drop bigger will it **** up my car?...... And i seen headers only for stick is there headers for auto?... Can all you guys help me out thanks alot

a stock stick, with a good driver, will beat a stock auto. With that said, if you suck at launching and shifting, and auto will kick u in the butt. However, since the stick is better in the beginning, any mod you give a stick, if u give the auto the same exact one, the stick will always be better. But yes, torque converter and better tranny can very well cancel out any disadvatages it previously had.
My preference...stick...just funner to drive |

If you have a bracket racing car or a 700 hp car, there is nothing better than a well built automatic. If not, Id say stick with the 5 speed.

An auto is alot more consistant as far as timeslips and tend to break alot less then manuals! I have a 5-speed and absolutely love it!

The auto is more reliable, consistant, stronger, and has far less problems then the 5 speeds. If you want to drag your car often and run 10 or 11's then Id say get the auto. Otherwise just get the stick and learn how to drive it.

just get stick...its fun to drive when u have fairly open road...but traffic sux...so if ur in the city or want a very fast time car....auto....if u are in suburbs..manual is the way to go.....n dont worry about really breaking things.....i takes alot of wear to really break something...unless u really suck at life and driving manual

It doesnt take a lot of wear to brake anything in the rear end. Try some 4k+ launches with et streets or slicks. I could launch my car with a 3500 stall and stock axles, posi all day long without braking anything. 5 speeds launch a lot harder then autos do.

5 speeds are alot more fun and if thats a major factor for making your decision id say go with a manual, i got an auto because i got a good deal on the car but after a while i really wish i got a 5 speed.
