Default DOCH vs SOCH

I'm contemplating buying a '98 mustang gt. I wanted to know how I could tell the difference between a dual overhead cam and a single overhead cam. I want the gt with the most power.

GT's didn't come with DOHC only the Cobras did . I just look at the cam covers though.

Really? My mom had an '01 GT and she told me it was DOCH... Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about. So no matter which year, only the Cobra's have the DOCH V8 engine?

Oh okay.

The 96-04 mustang gt has a 4.6L 2 valve SOHC engine.

The 05+ mustang gt has a 4.6L 3 valve SOHC engine.

The 96-04 cobra as well as the 03-04 mach 1 have a 4.6L 4 valve DOHC engine.

just get a gt and save the money you would spend for a DOHC for the new TrickFlow Heads. so far i have seen 350 rwhp with full exhaust and Comp Cam Stage 2 cams.

Dude, it's DOHC and SOHC, the H comes before the C

Also, your source was your Mother, really, think about it.

Keep in mind that the 96-98 GT's have the worse 2v heads called NON-PI heads and intake manifolds. They make way less power then 99-04 GT's. If you do get a 96-98 GT and there is nothing wrong with them, you will want to swap the heads and intake out for 99-04 parts also known as PI heads and intakes. This will give you a major bump in power.
