Default Break Noise?

I changed my rear breaks and now they make noise like crazy when driving.... stop making noise as soon as I touch the breaks. I have taken them off 3 times and applied break quieting goop. They will be quiet for about a day and then back to the same sqeaking, annoying, noise. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY! What is doing it?

Sounds like the calipers are hitting the dust shield. Do you have one on the car?

yep, the dust shields are still there.

They weren't hitting the dust shield before?

When you put the new pads on I bet you bent the dust shields. Jack the rear end up if you have a floor jack and rotate the back wheels. Do you hear the sound? If you remove a rim, you should see and actually feel the dust shield vibrating from the contact. Manuever the shield so that it does not rub. Either the shield got hit when you put the pads on or the new pads are so thick that they are causing the calipers to hit the shield. If it is not the shield that I am at a loss.
