Default 4.6 2V PI install walkthrough

does anybody have a PI head/manifold install walkthrough? i don't want to spend 600 - 1000 for an install cost when i have my dad to help me with it. i already have the hardware, Cylinder heads, manifold with an aluminum crossover. there isn't any on this website, and the closest one i found was for a Thunderbird.

any walkthroughs that anyone has/knows of?

Any 4.6 should be the same. Basically drain the coolant, pull the upper radiator hose off, pull the intake off, pull the valve covers off, and pull the heads off (leave the exhaust manifolds on since they are a PITA to take off in the car). Install the same as reverse. Now, I did leave the details out but you get the picture. It's just unbolting and rebolting stuff on. Just make you torque everything down to the correct specs, seal everything up, place the gaskets correctly, and most importantly, turn the crank until it's in the safe position (I believe that's w/ the keyway at 12 o'clock). Now may be the time to buy a Chilton manual (Haynes blows).

Theres two schools of thought on bolting the cams on:

Some people just lay the cam followers and cams on the heads and bolt the caps on.

Personally, I bolted the cams on first, then installed the followers.

The idea is with the followers in place it will interfere with torquing the caps down, but its up to you.
