Default 4:30's?

04 gt
Gears...definately my next step.

my friend has 4:10's and its awesome, he says he wishes he would have done 4:30's.

i'm not planning on anything else after this. so i would only have

gears (4:10 or 4:30)
x pipe no cats
magnaflow exhaust
keeping in mind its my daily driver...

so what would you do?

I have the 4.10's in a daily driver, I think they are plenty, I wouldn't do 4.30 just because with the 4.10's, 1st gear is short enough...also I do a lot of hwy driving and at 71mph, I'm at 2500 rpms.

like the run on sentence?

yeah i was thinking 4:30s would put higher in rpms on the highway than i would really like. i'm still deciding though. probably stick with the 4:10's but wanted some opinions first...

thanks

I have 4.10's on my 5 speed. Next time, I am gooing with 4.10's, but if it were my dd, I would probably have gotten 3.73.

LOL, thats a whole new thread youre getting into...but back to the gears. Just get the 4.10s unless you are a hardcore drag racer every weekend. Everybody has their own opinion on "daily driven" so its just a personal thing. Since you have driven a 4.10 car, Id say go with that or find someone with 4.30s and drive that as well. Have fun, dont get 3.73's...lol.

I got the 4:10's and love them. I don't think I could go with 4:30's anyway, I just about max out 4th in the 1/4, 4:30's I think would be too much for my 5 speed, now with a auto I would go with them.

no my car is definately NOT annoying...i love the way it sounds...

it depends on what cat-back your going to get. i have the magnaflow cat back and it sounds great with no cats. awesome acceleration and deceleration sound and absolutely NO drone.

actually at idle it almost sounds stock. maybe slightly louder and deeper but not much. i'd say go with it if thats the type of sound loudness your looking for.

4.30s are way too much for a daily driver. You will have horrible gas milage and you will get sick of shifting every 2 seconds. leave 4.30s for the 4v and track cars.
Go with 3.73s, 3.90s, or 4.10s

I run 4.30's on a daily driver with no issues. I get 19 combined city/highway and 23 on the highway when cruising at 70 miles per hour. And this is with an automatic, it would actually do even better in a manual.

I had 3.73's before my 4.30's and they were a nice street gear, did not do a whole lot at the track.

oops. Just saw this question.

I have no experience with the Zex kit and have had great luck thus far with my venom. I am familiar with how the Zex works, but I think the Venom is more fool proof.
