Just wanted to know from any 05 owners what brand cold air intake they would recommend? I dont want to buy one that requires a tune but I heard that alot of the cai that dont use a tune run lean? Either way if I have to get one with a tuner is fine (I will need it down the road anyway). Granatelli, BBK, JLT are ones I am considering. Any other brands I should consider?

Don't touch GMS, total junk. Also, the reason for the tune is the S197 computer are very sensitive to changes so a hand-held tuner should do the trick. Most CAI are in fact, packaged w/ it. However, the other companies you listed are good, also Steeda should be considered.

K&N, C&L, BBK are all good choices. Make sure your kit comes with a tuner or you'll likely end up with serious drivability issues.
Under no circumstances should you ever use a Granatelli part. You'll regret it if you do. |
