Hey guys:
I've noticed a few people here other than me that like to tinker with tuning the Ford ECU's. I use SCT's Advantage 3.0 with their Pro-Racer setup and a X-Cal2 to do my own tuning. I find it pretty easy to use but like all things it's giant and nebulous so the learning curve is steep. I chose it because I dislike Diablo, Fast was going too far, Anderson isn't well experienced and I've always had good repeatable results from SCT. What do you use, why did you pick it and what do you think about starting a tuners forum where we can post up stuff just for people that are tinkering with tuning? |

I too would really like to get into my own tuning since there is absolutely zero tuners in Alaska. It really makes big changes hard when I have to rely on a mail order tune which is 1/2 the reason why I am still without a power adder.

If I was you, Id buy a mongoose kit from Tim @ Modular Powerhouse. Then get a wide band to check a/f.

Having never actually ridden in a car with a centrifigal supercharger, I'm more apt to go the Kenne Bell route because I really liked the feel of the Eatons on the terminators, instang boost. I know that Kenne Bell gives a great out of the box tune, but it is more the general lack of support locally if something goes wrong that, for now, keeps me out of the game.

im going to germany and i got a cheap laptop. so all i need is the pro race program from SCT. as long as i got a good base tune for my future short block and blower cams i should do ok with fine tuning the car. octane ratings in germanland arent really the same as the states. plus, the SCT forums are very helpful as well.
hopefully i can pick it pretty quick. |

I'd encourage everyone to explore doing your own tuning. It's not that hard but it is technically involved to fully understand. Fixing little things like AF ratios and changing settings for gears and injector sizes and timing is fairly easy.
Jadartt... your a prime candidate. |

there really isn't much you'll fiddle with but timing and fuel. When you're ready to bite the bullet look to SCT. It's made me happy and the manual is actually helpful rather than simply informative.
