Went to Ford today about these TSB's: notchy/raspy shifting into 1st and 2nd, front suspension noise, and crunching noise during hard braking. If they do find something wrong with the trans, i don't know if i should trust them fixing it. What if they mess it up even more? I still have the stock shifter, so maybe if i put an aftermarket one in it will fix the problem. Most of the time it feels like the shifter is jumping around something in order to get into gear. Not that big of a deal. Who has had any tranny tsbs fixed before?

I had mine done at a Ford garage. My understanding is that it is an easy fix (replace one part with a better part) but it is involved (pulling trans out and tearing it down to get to the synchros)..... They used copper when they should have used brass or vice versa.. the point being that the metals expanded at different rates and made it grind when it was cold (until all the metals heated up then it worked again)

A friend of mine has a 2003 GT and has had his car at the dealership 3 times that I know of for tranny problems. They said they fixed it but he kept having the same problems. They finally said it keeps having problems because his car has been modified. I think it is BS myself. He has only the basic stuff done and doesn't put down a ton of HP. Good luck though. I hope you get it fixed.
