Default Fiberglass vs. Urethane

Alright so im thinking about getting the Saleen Mustang Body kit on MT found here Saleen Mustang Body Kits

My question is for those with the body kits, is Urethane really THAT much better. Its almost double the price of the Fiberglass option and I could get the Fiberglass kit now since i got the money. My other question is how much do you think it will cost to get the kit painted to Mineral Grey to match my car?

I'm no expert but it think the basics are that fiberglass is not a flexible as urethane. So the fiberglass kit is more prone to cracking or breaking than the urethane...but don't quote me on that..

Go urethane, dont do fiberglass unless you are a fiberglass specialists cause its a pain in the *** and fiberglass doesn't hold the paint as well as urethane on rock chips, etc...

ied say this get fiberglass sides and rear bumper
and urethane front

sides will be fine in fiber and the rear u usually get hit there so just dont back into anything

as for the front get urethande so it does not crack if u hit a bump or w\e

Fiberglass will also cost you more to install, as many times fiberglass will have to have more fiberglass laid on it in order to reinforce it. Urethane is normally easier to install, just popping on without any issues at all.

I personally recommend Urethane over fiberglass because of its durability. Remember, in transit these boxes can be shoved around, tossed, etc...Fiberglass can crack easily in those circumstances. Urethane wont.

From my experience with both you want to get urethane you wont regret the extra money you pay. My reasons being fiberglass tends to be more wavy and over time get stress cracks. Fiberglass is a pain in the *** to get on my sides needed lots of little modifications. My front on the other hand(urethane) went on like nothing and is soo strong and durable i would stand on the lip of my front. If i would of stood on the front of a fiberglass front it would of shattered instantly.

I have a fiberglass saleen kit... and am ordering the fiberglass rear... why? because I don't plan on flying through a puddle.

But if you want my opinion, just go with Urethane... but I like being a rebel.

Also when you get stone chips on a fiberglass part they just dig away at the fiberglass, but urethane they will bounce off and only chip the paint.

DO NOT GET FIBERGLASS, I REPEAT. DO NOT GET FIBERGLASS!!!

Fiberglass is the stupidest investment known to mankind. Urethane is worth the investment. I have some the worst cracks and chips in my bumper. Believe me, I'm a fiberglass owner.

Yes, urethane is more expensive in the beginning, but by the time you replace all the broken fiberglass, it will be cheaper.

I dont believe anything is rice on a mustang. Personally the rest of the kit flows with a cobra r front.
