So who is going to be Blown next year?

Getting a S/C is a big step, so i was wondering who has been saving up. So far i know Tooltime and i think Stangspeed is just about there. Any one else plan on having a S/C?

I AM!! Yeah, I'm saving up... and trying to figure out which blower to go with. I really can't choose, one week I want a KB 1.7, then I want a Vortech or Paxton. I think I'm going to go with this kit from JMS

or, you could not be a dumbass and just trade your 6er in for a GT and put an intake in it, and you will save a bunch of money.

Let the guy go he wants to be a little different and have a fast sixer :punk:. As for me you cant go wrong with 120 dollars that we will make up for when parting the car out.

or i can have a fast v6 and kill you in a race and a gt with an intake would not have 280hp idiot :loser:

Islander03GT 12-27-2005 05:51 PM

I'm hoping to be... no idea what kind of blower I'm gonna go with... a KB 1.7 would be ideal of course.

Before I get blown I'll be buying a second car though. Right now I'm looking at getting a 97-99 Jeep Cherokee.

stangspeed 12-27-2005 07:01 PM

well as my sig says..im very close to having all my money for my S/C, but now Im actually considering going another route..can you say "Stroker"?

MachGT 12-27-2005 07:03 PM

I sure don't plan on taking it off the car next year ;)

dannyb785 12-27-2005 08:46 PM

hey fonc, I'm saving for a s/c but I was wondering, besides new gears, is there anything else non-s/c-related that I should really consider getting? Would the stock engine and tranny and clutch be able to withstand anywhere between 350-400 rwhp?

Yes sirry

Just get a mongoose kit so you don't have to deal with all the injector and fuel pump crap. If you get a mongoose kit from MPH they will take care of everything for you. All you have to do is drive up to Georgia with about $4K and you are set.

stang00 12-27-2005 08:47 PM

yes it will just get a good tune and the gears when u get the s\c

dannyb785 12-27-2005 08:49 PM

won't the s/c install include a tune?

stang00 12-27-2005 08:51 PM

yes that is what i meant make sure u get a good tune with the s\c so your shifts and everything is all nice and smooth with all the added power

i woudl do what shadows said that woudl be your best bet have them install and tune it and just pay the little extra money for them to install your gears also

bikerjoe 12-27-2005 10:25 PM

ill b blown in the begging of janurary......boost is my new years resolution...lol

Non supercharger related mods should be basically suspension and exhaust. Dont make the mistakes i made. Once you get a S/C you should try to first get the best available tune. Push it to its limits with out pushing the limits on the internals. Have a good suspension set up to hook for the best quarter times. I would also invest in a clutch upgrade. And last but not least, make it breath. Dont restrict that exhaust.

After all of that, start saving for a forged block because you will not be satisfied. Everyone knows boost is addictive.

Oh i almost forgot. Unless you are a mechanic, work with someone that has installed a s/c before. Learn to do everything yourself. You will have to change belts and make adjustments. When they told me that labor would be about a thousand bucks for the install, i quckly found someone to help me put it on. Then you can just cruise to a qualified tuner because the tuner kit is crap. I wish i could have got my car down to MPH.

Good luck to all getting a s/c. I would like to see some KB/s on this forum. No dragging your ass next year.

I they made k/bs for v6ers  . I think an eaton twin screw will do enough whining for me.

hope not. haha. people say the spool will too.

ponygrrl 12-29-2005 05:47 AM

KB 1.7 hopefully by summertime. if commission at work keeps going as well as it is now (which it should, i've got people booked up until march!) then it should be no problem. install will be free, my BF and his dad will help, both of which have put s/cs on their trucks. and as far as a tune, Thunder Auto will tune it as soon as it's on. YAY! :)

Talking about rearends sounds sooo gay.

As soon as i finish my suspension, i will be working on the rear. So far, i have MM lca's, Steeda upper and 3:73 gears. I am debating on a Auburn Pro differential and 31 splines. i know you have rebuilt your rear and was wondering what do you suggests.
