I'd try and find a color to match the mineral color on your car all you have to do is make sure its a high temp paint. And dont worry about the gloss if if you put a clear coat on. Dont do red unlass you want it to stick out like a sore thumb.

Edit I checked into it I say the duplicolor silver....thats my opinion

That is a nice color...I wish I had a better sample.
Does anyone where I could buy this instead of ordering it?

yo i just painted my front calipers red, and i have the same color mustang you do. However I'm gettin the FR500's put on in black so the color scheme is a lil different. As soon as my internet is up again (at a friends house) (i hate comcast) i'll upload some pix. Red is hot, i've also seen black, and that looks hot on the car too. Also make sure u take alota time because it takes 2 hrs to put on each wheel, and then after that it takes another 24 hrs to dry completely. But yeah red on my car def. makes it looks alot better.

from start to finish it took me about and hour and a half to get all 4 painted.
and it does not take 24 hours for them to dry.....what kind of paint did u use??????? After i was finished painting the last caliper ..I let the paint dry and it took like an hour for the paint to fully dry.....

Held up great. Just make sure you actually buy CALIPER PAINT at your local autozone, pepboys, auto store, ect.

I used the spray can kind. just make sure you cover everything up besides the caliper with newspaper, masking tape to prevent unwated parts getting painted. its a rather easy process. I only put 2 coats of paint on and it still looks fine...although my wheels and brakes are in need of cleaning...

My car is black and I used a blue color paint.

Do you think it is necessary to remove the caliper or just be very careful?
I was going to do like 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clearcoat? Is that enough? How did you you prep them?

Well I had to paint my calipers without removing them ( i dont know how, and didnt even wanna attmept it..lol)

well....I took the wheel off....CLEANED the caliper with a rag, water, and degreaser....wiped it dry..

THEN....i covered EVERYTHING around the caliper with newspaper, using masking tape.
Everything= wheel well, rotor, brake pad, brake line and what ever else was there that i didnt want to get painted..

Then I spray the caliper little by little with the spray can about 3 inches away from the caliper. once the caliper was painted. I would wait about 10 mintes and spray another coat on...then wait until it was dry (about 15 minutes) then Put the wheel back on and do the same thing over again on the other calipers.

maybe it took my 2 hours to do it all....I cant remember...

I didnt use any type of clearcoat..just the paint..and they look good....

WISH i had a PIC to show ya my calipers....

Go with bright fire engine candy red. Nothing makes brakes look bigger and badder than RED!

I have painted two sets of calipers. The ones that you can get from autozone or another parts store are Duplicolor brand and they are OK and retail for around 15 bucks. Mine is already starting to chip in a few places. The paint I had on my truck calipers was much better. IT was the G2 brand and you can order it for about 40 bucks but it is a much better kit. It resists dirt much better than the duplicolor kit, you could basically hose off any brake dust with the g2 kit, the duplicolor requires wiping.

g2 is available thru www.stylinconcepts.com
BTW- on mineral grey; red, orange, yellow, or white would all look good to me.
