Default Howdy Folks

I know most of you either never heard of me or thought or hoped I fell off the face of the Earth, but no, we are still here in Germany but only for a few days longer.

My husband's assignment was curtailed so that we could retire and our options are wide open.

We are currently planning to move to the Charlotte, NC area. The schools that my husband and son want to attend are there and the cost of living is good and the area is beautiful. It is so nice to be able to just go where you want. You young guys out there listen up!!

I have a couple of requests, I would love some info about the area from those of you who might be there or have been there.

Plus we are looking to buy a Mustang for our oldest, who just turned 18. Nothing that is set up for racing. We are looking for reliable and reasonable priced. It will be a cash purchase, so just let me know.

I have been stalking the website but my job and my husband being deployed kept me fairly busy.

Enough BS for one night. Fill me in on anything I missed of entertainment value

Well, the dead has risen Glad to hear everything is going well and the "old man" is safe and sound. I think we all wondered where you were and how you were doing. It's been really really slow around here so you haven't missed much.

Charlotte is a beautiful place. I have spent a lot of time in the Charlotte/Concord area working. People are very nice and the traffic is a bitch. Real estate was very high at one time but who knows now with all the kaos and the depression. Just north of Charlotte is the Lake Norman area, thats where all the rich people live. Mooresville is nice but a little pricey. I don't know that much about the south end of Charlotte, (except for Six Flags) so I really can't comment on that end. Oh yeah, they have some killer places to eat. (i.e Carolina BBQ)

I think it would be worth it to take a trip and just see if its what the family wants. Good Luck.

How are you doing, was wondering if you and the family were still over in DE and how things were going. I work in Spartanburg, SC about 1.5 hr from Charlotte, NC and its a wonderful looking city and I have been there for some training events for my job.

Not sure the price range your looking for in a car or anything, give us some ideas and see what we can do for assistance, what line of work is your husband looking at?

Does your daughter wants a 5spd/auto and how much you looking to spend...

Take care!

North Carolina is gorgeous! I love it. By far one of my top three states. Traffic can be bad depending on where you live, but if you live close to the Kentucky/Tennessee Border (and also the Tail of the Dragon), its not too bad from what I've seen.

Good luck! Glad to see all of you guys are still safe!

From what we can see online the Charlotte/Mooresville area is a beautiful area and the housing market seems very good. I'm looking forward to getting there and seeing for myself.

My husband has spent the last 15 years in the supply/logistics area of the Army with 3 deployments. He has managed billions of dollars worth of equipment and manpower. I think the hardest part is going to be writing his resume.

My son is looking to spend around $7k and doesn't have much experience with a standard but it won't be a deal breaker if we find the right car. I don't want him to have too much power to start, so something that hasn't been seriously modded.

Thanks for the replies, we'll see ya soon.

I don't have any input on N. Carolina but welcome back to the site.
