Default Gun gurus. I need your wisdom.

Okay, so my birthday just occurred recently and I told my family just to hold off on gifts until I find out what I want.

Sooo....I've come to the conclusion I want a gun. My collection now consists of an M4, a 20-gauge Remington, a 12-gauge lightweight Remington, and a 22LR. I have two handguns, one is a .38 special and the other is a 9mm S&W i think.

Now here is where I need expertise. What do you guys think I should get next?

I really want an AK, but its more of just to have an AK and an M4, not so much for me to actually shoot it.

I've also been looking at a Remington 700. Shot one of my buddy's and absolutely loved it.

Another issue is that somehow I lost the original bolt to my M4. My dad put the 22LR conversion bolt in there and lost the .223 somehow. But, I'm not exactly sure what I need to order to fix it....but if I did I'd probably just put the money towards getting it fixed. Because having close to 1000 rounds of 5.56 just sitting there is useless.

I thought about another handgun, but the only thing I really want is a G20 or G23. And I really want to get into long range more than handguns again.

Any thoughts lol?

Alright *******, the M4 is the military designation for the select-fire carbine version of the M16, what you have is an AR-15, a civilian version of the M4 that is not select fire. Haha.

Uh, the part you need to order is going to be the whole bolt carrier group, I believed .22LR kits replace the BCG.

Here is a good quality BCG that meets all military specifications and strength tests and it's got that ******* sweet spider logo on it.

If you want to do long range marksmanship, a R700 is a good choice, but expect to spend about $600-700 on the rifle and $500-700 on some good optics, ****'s expensive.

.308 is also expensive. You can get R700s chambered in 223 but to me it seems kind of silly.

Hey *******. It says M4 on it. This is what I have down to a point.

Secondly, way to link me to one that is out of stock. Dick. But thank you. I've literally sat there forever trying to figure out whether I need the whole BCG or what I needed.

Since I need the whole BCG, and really want a longer barrel would I be better off buying a whole upper receiver? I want a full four way picatiny with something larger than a 16" barrel if possible.

I'm really liking the R700. There is an SPS Tactical that my buddy has and he told me he'd take 700 for it, so I might ****** it from him. Ammo is no big deal, as the same guy selling the gun also loads his own munitions so I'm sure he'd charge me cheap for some .308 if not doing it for free since he needs it for his Savage.

Ah, Bushmaster, that's just their marketing fluff. It's still not an M4.

Didn't realize that BCG was out of stock, I was going to link you to a Bravo Company BCG but theirs are out of stock too :|

For the barrel, do you really want something longer than 16"? If you change the barrel then you may need a new buffer tube as well. 20" ARs are kind of wonky IMO, if you are dead set on changing something though I would just do a mid-length 16" upper. It has a longer gas system than a 16" carbine and the hand guard is 2" longer, they are proven to be much more reliable and effecient than the shorter carbine gas system.

This is a mid-length AR (although, a really..really fancy one)

For rails, the Troy rail should suit you, decent quality and not too expensive

I just sold a Remington 700 in 7mm Mag for $250 I had it for 6 or 7 years and shot it twice.

If I were you I'd probably get a LEO trade in G22 and a new BCG for the Bushmaster. Here is the BCG I'd go with http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Bolt_an...y_p/bc1044.htm Make sure what ever Bolt carrier group you get is at least properly staked so you don't have to worry about it falling apart. Here is a very reputable guy selling some used G22's with night sights for a good price. http://glocktalk.com/classifieds/sho...21-21-21&cat=5
