do you buy music?
i was wondering how many of you actually pay for music in this day and age of the interwebs. have no fear, the poll is anonymous.
anyways, i was on hotnewhiphop.com and i saw an artist i listen to, Donnis, and he had a song titled "Ford Mustang." http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/en/play/s/d671f2b-245471/

That poll question is loaded. I wouldn't consider file sharing/pirating music 'stealing'.
Stealing is if someone comes to your house one night and steals your car. You wake up in the morning and your car is gone.
Pirating is like someone comes to your house on night, steals your car, but when you wake up the next morning your car is still there.

that's too complicated. i'm not sure of this forums specific rules when discussing piracy and other bad-nasty's like it, but alls i do is google the song/album followed by "mediafire." no problems yet (knock on my plastic laptop)

If it was so illegal then why aren't all these websites/places shut down? haha
I know isohunt had a lawsuit going on or something else, but they worked out something and had a few minor adjustments.

lol... "buy music".... hahaha!
The only cd's I've bought, were 'the marshal mathers LP' and 'the slim shady LP'
...simply because i wanted to support a good artist, even tho nowadays most his music is ****.

I've gotten to the point to where I just listen to Pandora 99% of the time. A lot of the stations I have setup place EXACTLY what I want to here.
Then if its something I necessarily need to HAVE to listen to in the car or whatever, when Pandora is unavailable I'll download it.
But getting CDs today is becoming even more of a hassle. A lot of the downloads I can get in FLAC or 320kbps rips, whereas the CDs are like 200kbps. And being the sound guru I am, I can't stand compressed audio.

I bet most of the 100 gigs you haven't even listened to. I have around 40 gigs and I've only actually listened to maybe 40% of the songs in my library.

Don't pull a Plaxico with dat Glock now
I use Pandora or the good old am/fm radio. No file sharing for me. But when my local Bucs games got blacked out that was a different story

Exactly. I have about 30gigs worth of music and while I have listened to everything at some point, I can random all my music and still hear something and go who the **** is this playing? But to answer the question, no, I don't buy music anymore. I use to work in a music store years ago and spent way too much money on music, and a lot of stuff I hardly listen to. Now I can "borrow" albums, and if I don't like it, well, then I didn't waste $10 or so on it.

I suppose 100gigs of rave techno is hard to come by legally.

Or you are constantly hitting the next button

I do that all too often. I pretty much get everything off newsgroups. And if you look at leaksallday.com, they do pretty good at updating you what cds have leaked. Lately I've gotten some stuff a good month before they came out.

LOL. Glad someone noticed it.
To be fair though, I do download a lot of **** I don't REALLY need. For instance with a lot of bands I download their whole CD when I only really know of a few songs that I like, in hopes that I may like other songs on the CD....but usually that never happens, so there is half a CD that I never listen to lol.
But definitely not 100gigs worth.

I'm known for that in the car. I can't do it while riding because I use the Touch now.
or you can always just download them from YouTube.
I used to download albums and hopefully I like more of their songs, but then it changed.
Edit:
I only have 360 songs, but have a long list of songs I want to download. I lost all my music from before. :/ Then I have TONS of cds, but not on the computer/iPod.
